Placing Wall Trap doodads in SCMDraft

I'm trying to put a wall missile trap in my map. It will let me, but for some reason it always gives it to player 1 (me) but I placed it with Player 2 selected. What could be going wrong?

:wtfage: That's... odd. It works perfectly fine for me. Maybe try placing it and then clicking on it and changing its owner from the unit properties?

It won't let me click properties for the unit. It's grayed out.

lolwut. Are you sure you're placing the turret from the units tab and not from.. somewhere else? O.o

Sounds like you're placing sprites rather than units to me... Make sure you're in the "Unit" layer, should be ctrl + U.

I was placing them from the Doodad tab, so that they look natural, because if I select them from units, it will not blend in the wall very well. Unless there's a way of getting that to work.

If you're placing them as doodads they should belong to player 12. Regardless, I don't know of a way to make a doodad belong to a certain player. Chances are you'll have to place them as units, and try to arrange the wall tiles so that it looks less conspicuous.

Place the Doodad. Convert it to terrain. Delete the Unit Sprite. Place the unit.

Not for trap units. You could give them to certain players by having a player selected when placing the doodad. At least, you can in StarEdit. At least, I think.

Just place the traps on the wall as units by checking the "place units anywhere" option under Options in scmdraft and give them to whichever player you want. If you use a certain subtile, they'll blend in perfectly to the wall.



See? You don't even notice they're there with the proper subtile.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Right click on them, then convert the doodads to terrain and try to select the sprite and try to change the owner.
