The Story

tl;dr version: See picture below.

No freaking clue what to do or how to do it. 30 minutes of Googling hasn't helped me.

Edit 1: It work won't if I set the boot priority to USB in the BIOS thing.

wth is starcraft

Hmm, I think this is the reason I partitioned my hard drive last time I put Ubuntu on my computer. :P Is it too late to start over and do that?

You don't install windows 7 via wine ;)
There's two things you can do. You can install win7 on a virtual machine (probably virtualbox, easy enough to use) which means you run it on your ubuntu desktop in a window or fullscreen, but it won't be quite as fast as if it was installed by itself. Or, you can add a partition to your hard drive using ubuntu and install it on there by inserting the windows 7 setup disk.

This may help http://members.iinet.net/~herman546/p20.html

Wait, what was the program that would boot up Ubuntu from the start menu? I don't think it was a wine, I think it closed Windows for you when he clicked the button. It started with an M...Mike showed it to me many years ago.

All I have is a USB with the files on it... although I don't think that means anything different.

How to add partitions... I have no clue.

Edit: All I see in that link of yours Jack is a bunch of terms I hardly understand.

that help? I don't have headphones on. But trust me, if I can do it, anyone can. I'm about as computer stupid as you can get.

That'd help a lot if I was using Windows to partition my hard drive, but I'm using Ubuntu. :awesome:

I imagine it's not much of a difference in Ubuntu. Just get a partition program that works under Ubuntu. Google should be able to help you with that.

I've heard that installing windows from USB is rather difficult to do. Whenever I reinstall an OS, I just boot from CD. Get an image, put it on a cd, boot from the CD and then follow the installation instructions -you can't go wrong.

I don't have any CDs that can hold the 2.4 GB that is Windows 7... it says they can hold around 750 MB.

Got it to work after convincing my dad to take me to best buy and get a blank dvd.

Your first mistake was trying to use Ubuntu as a replacement for windows.

In the future, stick your windows disc and load up the repair utility or whatever its called. Assuming you didn't disable restore points, you can just restore back to before you installed updates.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
