Just so everyone is on the same page, Jack has been talking to our affiliates about the idea of a multi-site Wiki collaboration. An Admin from each site would have an Admin position on the Wiki and be able to take backups whenever necessary. Each site would also link to this page, and in turn the Wiki would advertise each site equally as main contributors. We actually have a few people on board for this, which is great, so ideally the site should be up in a week or so (once I get the final "Ok" from IP). Everyone here would need to re-register on there, but I can import all our current Wiki articles without a problem.

With so many people involved, this Wiki could potentially be an incredible resource for SC2.

I'll write up an agreement that each member site would need to agree to, it'll be fairly simple, as in "Don't break stuffz, don't flame, you get a backup once a week, don't over-advertise your site other than the allocated areas, each site gets one admin-type, preferably not the admin of the site so you don't get distracted from your main site."

Also, devlin, do you know if there can be a staff forum-esque area of the wiki?

The admins of the Wiki can export on their own, so it may just be more beneficial for them to do it when they want to rather than have me send them a backup every week.

As for the forum, I don't think the Wiki itself can do that, but I can probably add like forum.galaxywiki.net to it for a staff-only forum.

I think pretty much every one of our affiliates hates mapster, plus sixen wouldn't want it. (Yeah I know you were joking but someone was going to bring it up sometime).

Sixen stopped being active over sc2mapster. While I was talking with Progammer yesterday, I understood it was now mostly vjeux the admin. We might want to contact him?

I'm working on a font-neutral logo for the site now. I really like how PlanetKosmos (the font we use for SEN's logo) looks, but I'll post a few options to see what you guys think. Keep in mind I just kept the same layer effects on them from the first option, and that could change. It just looked sexy on option 1.







The current temp "logo" looks like this:


The "Wiki" text is easier since I used some random Sci-Fi font for the current one.

I personally like 1 and 3 (the Battle.net font).

3 is simple and to the point. Use it. Not feeling the layer effect though. :3

I vote for 1.
I like #4 as well.

Like I said at the beginning of that post, I just changed the font each time. The effect will be different based on the font.

I agree, though that isn't too much of an issue. I updated Option 3 with a possible "Wiki" underneath as an example.

Yeah, I'm liking that a lot. I changed http://www.galaxywiki.net/ for the hell of it and it looks slick. Thanks to Jack for suggesting the font.

No estimations, but basically it would be at least what our Wiki already gets since it will replace our Wiki. It will also be the Wiki of at least 3 other sites as well, so that'll bring more traffic.

Yes, and all the current articles on our Wiki would be transferred to the new one.

What else does the agreement need?

Oh yeah, who'll be SEN's wiki rep? I'm up for it if devlin doesn't want to, even though I'll be a bit busy over the next month or so.
