Well... As I was trying to make a unit, I noticed its quite different from making one in the beta.. It just gets all f'ed up and its pissing me off.. Can anyone explain to me?

I just want to make a marine-type copy, change its name, its various stats, then its model, gun, etc.

Which it used to be

Duplicate actors, effects, and weapons.. Then double click and rename the unit, blah blah, and it shows up in the unit pallete, and you go from mass editing there.

When I do this now. it. Does. Not. Work.

Thoughts?

You can just duplicate the Marine under Unit and it should do it for you. Unless you're trying that and it isn't working, then I'm not sure... :/

:devlin: CURRENTLY WORKING ON :devlin:
Shadowlands | Demonic: Urban Apocalypse
Invasion: Ares | Recon | OMG TEH ZOMBIES!!!

Its so f***ing annoying how f'ed up they made it, I literally cant make ANYTHING, I can't copy a unit and name its ID, and most of the time I cant even name the freaking unit or make it viewable, it just WONT. I find the beta much better, it let me on there, it wont on here. Its too frustrating to figure out.

If you have problems renaming some units, your dependency order may be wrong.
If you have added the campaign dependency, it has to be on top of the dependency list.

Which is exactly why? Doesn't make any sense to me.

The rule is simple: when duplicating an unit, select (check) everything you're going to modify. Don't forget the Actors too, even if you don't change them.

I found that, when you try to copy a unit and even if you check on everything, you might get a unit, that when placed looks like a while half-ball. This is fixable by going to the unit and re-assigning models under the database. If you want to change an unit without risking anything, you can just pick the unit (marine?) And edit his settings. You will notice that the name switches from blue'ish to a green'ish tan in the list. That means this unit has been edited and are no longer as it was originally. You can just change the name and settings on the unit then, no need to copy it -- Obviously, this only works if you wont be needing the original model for any other purpose.

Then theres 0 purpose to add anything new if we are going to toss the original unit. We want a NEW unit based on that unit.

Err that should be actor. You really only need to duplicate the unit actor.

Isn't that what I've just said? :O
Or do you mean we don't even need to copy the rest to modify them?
