Now that I gots a laptop, I thought to make a thread where people post their laptops. Yay.
I have a new Sony Vaio Z-series, with a 2.53Ghz Core i5 processor, integrated graphics + 330M video card (interchangeable), 1600x900 max resolution, 4GB DDR3 and 128GB SDD. It has a 13.1" monitor, weighs slightly over three pounds, has a five-hour battery life of constant activity using integrated graphics, a backlit keyboard, camera, and fingerprint sensor (useless, but fancy). It runs Windows 7 Home Edition. There are no heat or sound problems while using it to search the web, but the back got a bit warm and it got a bit loud when I ran WoW in the newer zones (with the 330M). No problems performance-wise, however, and definitely playable. The biggest obstacle was seeing the blue text of the player names on a 13" screen at 1600x900, but I can always change the resolution. I used it yesterday to stream an HD video from my new external harddrive, run it through VLC and have it process it to the resolution of my TV, instead of that of my monitor - so it can play at resolutions beyond that of the screen. Awesome. I used my wireless mouse as a remote.
Err... yeah. It's awesome, but it also cost $2000 or so. Going to be my college laptop. I named him Lappy-cake.
Your laptops?

4-5yr old Toshiba L15-S104 with Celeron 1.3 GHz, .25GB RAM, misc. integrated shit and 40GB HDD (with a life support .5TB external). We use it to torrent shit and plug into the TV to watch, and nothing else.

Johnny, try getting one of those notebook coolers.

Johnny, try getting one of those notebook coolers.
I have one but its not very powerful, and I do not really like shopping for notebook coolers because you cannot tell if it sucks or blows unless you plug it in.
For this laptop I have to get one that blows or it will just kill the designed airflow.

The Craptop:
1.2Ghz Celeron
256MB RAM
20GB HDD
11-ish" screen
Other details:
Circa 2002. I had to replace the power adapter last week because the original finally died, after shorting out when it was bent in exactly the right angle. The internet jack thing quit working about six months ago, so I had to go buy a USB wifi adapter. The battery doesn't hold a charge anymore, so disconnecting the power supply instantly kills it. With the old power supply, bumping the computer could result in the loss of power, causing massive RAGE moments. Resuming from sleep/hibernate has a 33% chance of BSODing, causing massive RAGE moments. DVD player sometimes decides there are no DVDs inserted, so you have to open/close the tray several times to get it to work. Multitasking is a joke, as playing a video while trying to leave the browser open in the background results in choppy playback. Playing music is smooth, but pages load slowly.
Next year, I get a laptop as a graduation present. Can't wait for that.
tits
Got a macbook pro, 13-inch. However, for gaming, I dual-monitor it to my 23 inch TV.
2.53 GHz dual core
Geforce 9400M graphics. It's integrated into the CPU specially, but for me it performs pretty well
4GB RAM
250GB HDD
My campus is an all mac campus, as they have a large digital media and digital arts program. Price wasn't as much of a problem for me either as I'm planning on keeping this laptop for a pretty long time, at least until my 5th year of pharmacy school, although I may get a gaming desktop somewhere in between there to keep up with newer games.

Yeah, I want to try hooking my laptop up to my monitor and play on that. I'd looked at getting a Macbook pro, but decided that the Sony was more awesome. I can't wait until I get to use it more, it's kind of pointless right now because I'm not going to take it to school (Not risking anything happening to it right now
