Hello

I've talked to zeeg (founder of nibbits) and Moose: nibbits is now an affiliate of SEN.

A step in the wrong direction. Nice job.

Relatively ancient and inactive

I find it sad that an otherwise 3rd rate website like Nibbits has so much more information about SCII than we do. And compared to some others, they have nothing. We're at the bottom of the whole bunch.

It hasn't been released yet. I honestly don't care about any of information going about it right now. I'm sure things will change once we can actually buy the game and use the editor without having to resort to breaking Blizzard's ToS.

Plus Nibbits has a nice dldb.

Not breaking the ToS has done nothing for us for seven years. Now, it's alienating the most innovative elements of early SCII mapmaking. Corbo was the only active SEN member who was doing nice stuff with SCII. I believe Deathknight has stopped posting here, too.

Scmdraft is a violation.

In any case, I'm glad to see Nibbits as an affiliate; its an excellent site.

And since the SCII editor is going to be professionally maintained, nobody will have to use anything similar to Scmdraft for SCII.

To put this nicely, I think you should take a better look at what goes on there.

I do find it rather humorous that SEN suspends Gigins for his signature and then goes and affiliates itself with Nibbits, which publicly hosts a StarCraft II beta crack.

I lol'd after reading that. I didn't know Gigins was suspended... Yeah, SEN's doomed.

I expressed my disapproval with this decision to both Dev and Moose at various times. They chose to ignore me.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

I'm sad that this happened a short time before the sc2 editor MAY be released in the beta. :(

That is not the reason he was suspended. I sent him a very polite PM requesting that he removed a line from his signature. Instead of doing so, he responded with two words which expressed some grudge against me that I am unaware of. I'm not putting up with an attitude which is easily comparable to that of a tempered fourteen year old.

I don't believe we can get punished for what we SAY in PM's. God knows, I've said some interesting things to Vrael. The "ignore" button is right there. We CAN be punished for not complying with rules. Suspending Gigins, who was the one who was actually making the effort to move us to SCII early instead of drearily waiting for SCII to come out and not using the tools available to us (despite, as pointed out, breaking the ToS by hosting Scmdraft), was a bad idea. At this point, we're behind every other major SCII mapmaking community.

I'm not letting a member trample all over me just because he contributes. If you treat a GM or an administrator like dirt, you're not going to be here, it's as simple as that.

I don't see how saying "Fuck you" is "trampling" over you.

Whatever. If you let pride take precedence over everything else, there's little that can convince you otherwise. Suffice to say, your "Stop linking to the crack" was hypocritical in light of both SEN's support for various mapping tools and mods, and its recent affiliation. This hypocritical stance of the administration led to the suspension of one of the most productive members on SEN and allowed potential SCII mappers to converge in other communities instead of coming to us.

You certainly can, I just have taken the personal liberty to not hold you (and some others, who I will neglect to name here) accountable for what you say to me personally
That certainly doesn't make them 'private'. I understand spam-mailing or something, but when it takes you a button-click to never receive anything from a member again... oh, well.

Imo Gigins obviously shouldn't have cussed at Merrell. As I heard it from him, he didn't realize that Merrell was a Gmod and wouldn't have cussed at him if he had known. But that's beside the point.

The point is that SEN Staff asked Gigins to do something about his signature and possibly would have forced the issue if it had come to that, and then SEN Staff turns right around and directly affiliates with and provides a link to the very site that Gigins was promoting relating to SC2 Beta cracks. This seems hypocritical to me.

I'm sure there's a better explanation, though, and if someone can let me know I'd be much obliged.

The intent of the mapping tools was to make up for an editor in which Blizzard didn't provide. The editor itself was a means of improving the overall game by testing the boundaries of the game space. This is clearly different from the intentions of a crack to allow people to mess around with the Beta.

As already stated, his signature has nothing to do with his banning; his reaction to a request made by a Gmod had him banned.

Posting up points already responded to in order to get the last word is annoying, Cent.
