Introduction
The first place winner will be awarded an unregistered SC II Beta key with no strings attached. The goal of this contest is to create positive incentive for the creation of a few more quality UMS maps.

Specifications

• All maps will be judged by a handful of pre-determined judges based on a set criteria.
  
• The maps to be submit must adhere to the prescribed theme.
  
• There is no specification for an amount of players.
  
• Mapping teams are not allowed.
  
• Mod supplements are not allowed (for simplicity of judging).
  
• Maps started previous to the starting of this contest are not allowed.

Theme
The theme that each of the maps need to adhere to is: The Ocean

The theme is meant to be rather open ended, and also serves the purpose of making sure that maps started prior to the contest aren't submit. As long as the map's story or gameplay focuses on the ocean in some way, you'll score full points for the Theme category.

Examples:

• Short story RPG about an ocean wallowing over an island once every hundred years, where the character prevents this from happening yet again.
  
• 4 player game where the players fish for sea animals and crustaceans, then battle each other with their catches.

Judging Criteria
Gameplay: 10 points

• Does the map keep the player's constant attention?
  
• Is the map too hard, too easy?
  
• Is the map actually fun?

Originality: 10 points

• Was the entire idea copied from someone else? If so, did you shape the idea into something unique?
  
• Is your map not just a Final Fantasy or AoS clone?

Aesthetics: 10 points

• How shiny is your map? How polished?
  
• Is your terrain blocky in places?
  
• Do you have proper grammar?

Theme: 5 points

• Does your map have more than just some water tiles?
  
• Does your map have anything to do with the ocean?
  
• Is the ocean somehow incorporated into your storyline or gameplay in a meaningful way?

Completion: 5 points

• Are there major bugs?
  
• Is the map complete?
  
• Do you use the entire map's space?

Note: This contest has no affiliation with the previous one. Maps made for the previous beta key contest will not be allowed into this contest -the purpose of this is to be as fair as possible and to give everyone an equal chance at the beta key.

Wow, i'm burnt out from the map I made for basically what I thought was this contest... Not discouraging at all. Good luck to those who enter, and to the winner: I hope the key doesn't magic itself away or anything.

Yeah, I am really sorry about the last contest. Hopefully Shocko will return. We would still love to see a submission from you despite last contest!

In the meantime, lets focus on how awesome this contest will be. I assure you all the key will be here and handed out to the winner

I've never actually finished a map before.... I guess I can TRY now because I want to play SC2 so freaking badly... ;D. We'll see.

may it be a movie? The criteria says it must be fun... but if its a movie how can it be fun?

Sure it can be a movie. I don't see how you would score well for gameplay though.

Wasn't Water World was the most epic fail of a movie ever?
And I'm also amazed how people have so many unfinished maps and none complete. Wouldn't that drive you crazy knowing that you may as well have never touched a map ever?
We'll see if I am able to conjure up something for this. I could care less about SC nowadays, but it's worth it for SC2
