So yea I'm trying to make a trigger where lesser units follow a hero unit. I made a simple trigger, once a unit enters invert location that creates a range around hero, it is ordered back to hero. Yea, it doesn't work. So whats up with those invert location, I read the wikis but according to them it should work. Help please.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

This is the way to go but you must not use inverted locations or you will never detect a unit inside. A unit needs to touch all borders of the inverted location at once to be detected.
Just use a regular location and always center it.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

It's quite simple. The unit isn't entering the invert location that creates a range around hero. Here's a few tips to helping us help you:
post the "simple trigger". If it's so simple, then it's pointless to not post it.
post a mock situation in a picture, with the locations enabled, and explain the picture. Pictures speak 1000 words, you know?
post the units you're trying to use.

A simple way of saying it, is that with a regular location, a piece of the unit merely needs to be inside the location. With an inverted location, the entire location needs to be inside the unit.
Did this not make sense?

Ok, I'll try to be more clear. I didn't mean to be so unclear, just thought it would be a "no you can't" kind of answer.

I need a location that would look like this, thought invert location does that.

The simple trigger is like this.
*p1 brings at least 1 goli to invert
*issue order to all goli at invert attack to center

This would keep the goli close to SCV.

Yeah, it doesn't work like that, though it'd certainly be nice if it did in many instances. I think the wiki says it pretty well (I ought to, I wrote it) like rockz said:

An inverted location must be smaller than the unit it wants to try to detect. In this situation it really isn't helpful.

Instead center a normal location for the range and when the player brings less goliaths into the location than the scv should have around him you can either order all the goliaths back to the center or give away all the goliaths inside the range, order the remaining goliath that wasn't given (because it was outside the range) and give the given goliaths inside the range back to the correct player. The problem with the giving method is that it'll deselect all the goliaths if you have them selected whenever a goliath steps out of range.

Thanks! :D

At least confirmed that I'm not a total retard that can't make a simple trigger as that. Just got the inverted location idea wrong.

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
