He manned a gas station kiosk at a grocery store[2016-5-28. : 3:35 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- My job's cool though because I have all day to work on homework.. I just fell behind this week and had to do some at home because I was watching youtube videos too much  [2016-5-28. : 3:34 am] TiKels -- That'll probably help actually, even if you have to go an extra year[2016-5-28. : 3:34 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I'm also not doing it full time, since I work and stuff[2016-5-28. : 3:33 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- This is my first year, so I don't know about any of that[2016-5-28. : 3:33 am] TiKels -- I have a theory that it's because engineering takes away your entire life. Then all that's left is stress and engineering[2016-5-28. : 3:32 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I learned about spermatogenesis from it, that was something I didn't know about before [2016-5-28. : 3:32 am] TiKels -- There's a stereotype about engineering students. That they complain too much about school, think they have it worse than everyone else, look down at other majors, etc[2016-5-28. : 3:30 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- like record it/watch it after your evening shift and then do the homework and turn it in somehow[2016-5-28. : 3:29 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- One of the colleges used to have classes on public TV late at night so I'd watch like biology lectures [2016-5-28. : 3:27 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- It'd be cool to just take all of the classes, but that would be really expensive and not get me anywhere[2016-5-28. : 3:26 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- My primary goal for school is to learn things and broaden my understanding, which is part of why I was considering a physics degree [2016-5-28. : 3:24 am] TiKels -- If you aren't going to be willing to work, you will not make it. You cannot slide by on intelligence alone[2016-5-28. : 3:23 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I feel like I have the aptitude for engineering, my only concern is what I have in aptitude I lack in drive [2016-5-28. : 3:21 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I dunno how far he is, he said he keeps changing his major and also has to balance school between working and having an infant and teenage stepchildren[2016-5-28. : 3:18 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- TiKelsTiKels shouted: I mean yes understanding is important. But if you go the engineering route your biggest barrier will be the intensity of the work which is why my brother backed out of it, he was struggling with chemistry and decided he didn't have the time to focus enough on it[2016-5-28. : 3:18 am] TiKels -- Professors will treat you unfairly. Group members will stop working and you'll have to pick up the slack. |
