Drywall is a type of wall structure that makes use of small sheets of gypsum (a type of mineral) as its primary construction material. Gypsum board is coated with a mixture of water and solvents, that allows it to be easily cut, drilled and sanded. The drywall panels then get assembled together using special fasteners which allow them to be fixed to wall studs and joists without the use of screws or nails.
