Yep. I had it downloaded, set up and triggering in like two minutes.

Well you forgot to take into consideration that I'm noob at stuff like this. Ut! She just finished downloading, let me give her a test drive. :D

EDIT: Yeah, just as I figured, I'm completely lost.

Just on the topic of all of this, Are there any "Advanced" Trigger editors? I like the trig editor in Starforge because you have all the actions and conditions in the same little window thing. I mean, I know notepad and notepad++, but is there something designed for Starcraft? Looked at Warbox, didn't really get the point. I like the Classic Trigedit on SCMDraft, but it takes forever to make several triggers for every single player, like unit spawning. Anyway, is there something better than the trigeditors in SCMDraft and Starforge?

I know the basics of it. I just wanted to know how to write the triggers into N++

Notepad++ is extremely handy for working with text, I like to use the GUI for SC Triggers, but I use Notepad++ when writing in C++, if you write your own setup for triggers, you can collapse them all, easily add comments that require no string space, and quickly move sections of triggers around, it is extremely handy.

How? I don't want to just mess with it until I get it. I will eventually learn the trigger text so that I can just write my own triggers with out the scmdraft.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Macros. Setup a macro which starts a new trigger. Then you can put in the actions/conditions yourself.

It's free, just do a google search for Notepad++, it should be the first result.

I have it downloaded and working. I used it for a while but it became too confusing. I had to change 2 different variables per trigger. I soon messed up and became ticked off with it and went back to Classic Edit. I want to use Notepad++ to eventually learn the trigger text.

You don't even need to macro or use some other method of duplication to trigger in trigedit. Even copy paste and manual edit in notepad can be faster. Make a trigger with classic trigedit, then copy paste modify that in trigedit.

I want to be able to write the triggers via memory from my brain. I don't think I have ever used every single trigger for an action or a condition, and most of them don't need to be used/can't be used in the types of maps I have made. I shall eventually learn the trigger syntax to manually write out triggers in notepad++ then copying them into the Text Trigger Editor.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Easy to memorize deaths, resources, create (wp), preserve, always, move, move location, kill, remove, etc...

The odd ones you just look up, or make in classic trigedit. Generally, I make 1 in classic trigedit, then open in trigedit, copy to crimson editor, and go.

I think I will just make triggers in the Classic Trigger Editor then I will just change the variables in it.

Whatever floats your boat. I guess some people are content with inefficiency.

I can make a trigger from scratch faster in classic trigedit than in trigedit. Starforge is by far the fastest, though.

I believe (hope) Brontobyte meant he would change the variables in it using trigedit/notepad combo.

 Do you have to always reply with negative posts or Is it just me? I clearly stated that I would try to learn the syntax, which is very complex to a new user ( of text triggers ). :wallbash:

Exactly! It would be easier to just copy a main trigger, then change its variables in Notepad++ and then copying it back, rather then going one by one, possibly making a mistake, through the trigger and doing it manually.

I'm the one holding the hammer. :bash:

How would I do this? Do you mean like set up some sort of template so that I input information and it places it in the correct fields? I'm have the faintest clue what a macro is.

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
