Well... no, that map does not use any modified AI Scripts (so far...) The game crashed the first time too, that's why I had to load.

To continue with that last issue... I think I've found a common denominator. Yesterday SC hung up on me. It never did crash therefore I can't produce the dump file - I had to terminate the process. It was while playing another mission that does not have any own-made AI Scripts (nor did the one where I experienced the crash) but both have the computer opponents that run stock Zerg Insane AI Scripts (one has the vanilla one, the other Expansion one - actually 2 of them). Both times the crash/freeze happened after quite a while into the missions - I'd wager at least 40 minutes (in the second case I can say for sure it was past 30 minutes as the map has a 30 minute survival timer after which it enters the laissez faire realm where you basically just need to hang on for as long as you can). Another couple of missions - on without any campaign AI Scripts run for any of the players, the other with a few scripts from Brood War campaigns - were not causing any issues.
So I'm pretty sure AISE is the culprit. But how come it's not my own scripts that cause errors?

If you think that aise is causing the issues, and you aren't relying on any custom scripts, you should try to remove it and see if it works then to narrow things down. I haven't heard of aise causing any freezes though.
The crash is from player's guard AI list seemingly becoming corrupted, that could also cause freezes, but I haven't heard of anything that could cause that. The crashdump doesn't reveal much more than that.
One thing you could try checking is that no buildings/workers have "allow becoming guard" flag set in units.dat ai tab.
None.
Thanks. I haven't edited any of the worker units. On the second go I was able to finish the mission where I encountered a freeze and so has Nekron. Sorry for raising alarm.

Had to update to fix a crash that sometimes occured with aise idle_orders and latest patch which added some extra checks

On a new laptop, Samase refuses to install, even when running on admin. It just closes itself immediately.
What's my problem?
None.
It closes when it can't compile properly, it happens somewhat frequently in my experience, you just need to retry a couple of times.
Or are you trying to open samase.exe itself? It doesn't work like that, you need to use it from the command line
Yeah, I tried that too and CMD doesn't recognize it.
None.
Did you path properly to your samase folder? You can make a bat file in the same folder as samase that's like this:
samase.exe C:\samase\uedaip --pack C:\samase\uedaip.exe
And use it to compile
Nah, that didn't work either.
None.
Can you record your process and the mod folder?
So I got samase to work, but I can't seem to get the team colors (which is what i'm trying to mod in) to work.
i'm using a pack that Pronogo uploaded and the colors will not take in my mod.
None.
Make sure the tunit.pcx and tminimap.pcx files are in a folder called `game` in your mod directory.
Updated for the latest patch.

Thanks for the updates! I was finally able to beat the Norton Security and update my instances of SAMASE and MTL to the latest versions.

Released an update that fixes BW crashing if D3D9 renderer was used with some plugins.
None.
Well... another patch has hit us (1.23.1). I wonder if it breaks compatibility with SAMASE again?

Seemed to work fine. Didn't test too extensively ingame but samase was still able to find all memory offsets it needs.

Seems that Blizzard decided that .bin dialog format is garbage and converted all of the ui .bin files to .json.
None.
Well... fook.
So if I was editing chiefly the campaign screen selection dialogue, where do I find the actual strings now, as the gluExpCmpgn.ui.json file does not seem to contain the strings but rather points to somewhere else? By trial and error I found that RC3.XML contains what appears to be the strings I was looking for, but is it the file to edit?
On one hand, it's irritating that they keep changing the stuff around. On the other hand, I can be only happy that some of the proprietary formats (that required dedicated utilities to edit them, some of which have not been available until much later) are going away and Notepad / Far Manager's editing plugin are kings.
