Jump to next paragraph for the question.
Mar´ri mar´ri (that is my way of saying Hello) Im Pukito the (second time) new. I alredy posted this but, unfortunly moments later the server fall. Of course this is more small that the original post.
I like to make UMS maps, however few are completed. And about my spelling, well, im sorry, its because its not my native lenguague.

In one of my maps i wanted a feature that i was not able to make. To have a commander and an alied computer. This Commander (unit, like Jimmy) will give the control to the player the allied units near to him (like rescue but not really) and if a unit go far, the computers regains its control. Really nice. Wath i did was, MoveLocation to Commander, then give all man of Player to Computer, and instantly give all men on the Location to Player. It works fine, except for the part that you lost playability. Give units To, will make units to be deselected, making hard as hell controlling or give commands to troops.
Well, i discarded the feature (making spawning of troops with dropships is enoff for the map), but i thogth that more skillfull Triggerers/Mappers will have fun discousing if its posible do such thing or not (i mean the commander, not the dropship)

Ok well I believe this is a question about how to make a map work so it should be in the map making assistance forum. Nevertheless I'll try my best to answer.

So the problem was that you couldn't control the units being given/taken away because they were deselected. Now, I'm assuming that the location that is being centered on Jimmy is probably at most 5x5, and saying he was moving it would be very hard to go about selecting the units that were given to you before they were out of the location and consequently taken away. There are a couple ways to go about this, but since I don't know what exactly you're aiming for it is hard to say.

The way I might go about it is instead of saying if any units enters the automaticaly given to jimmy, I would make a smaller location do that.
Trigger
Players

  • The Commander
  • Conditions

  • Always
  • Actions

  • Move Location '5x5' on Jimmy Anywhere
  • Preserve Trigger

  • So this one is just centering the trigger on Jimmy. Now we are going to have a different trigger that uses a very small location, preferably a 1 pixel by 1 pixel location.
    Trigger
    Players

  • Commander
  • Conditions

  • Computer brings atleast 1 unit to location '5x5'
  • Actions

  • Move location '1pixel by 1pixel' on unit owned by computer at location '5x5'
  • Order unit at '1pixel by 1pixel' to move to location '5x5'
  • Give unit at '1pixel by 1pixel' from computer to Commander
  • preserve trigger

  • Ultimaetly all this is doing is individualy giving the units that enter Jimmy's area and then ordering them to head to Jimmy. Since it is individual it won't make them all constantly horde to him. It will probably give the commander an extra 1 or so second to select the unit if thats enough. Just try it out, if not I can think of something more out of the box.

Now as I said, I don't know exactly what you were going for so this may be entirely irrelevant, but I hope it isn't.

First, i wanted to do a make with this, but i discarded this. I mean, i will not make a map with this anyomere, but i still have the curiosity on how can be done.
And your answer is interesting but, i think i miss explained. I am thinking in a location more like 500x500. I dont want a rescue, it was a bad example. the Commander must be near, not like touching, more like "shouting commands" near. And, when a unit go far, i mean, outside this area of command, it goes back to the computer.

PD: oh and ¿wath is the motive of the report of the post? because i will make the mistake again if i dont know

He meant 5x5 by 5 squares (in the editor), not 5 pixels.
btw 500x500 is larger than the max map size (256x256)

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
