All I see is "SC1 contests" on
http://www.staredit.net/forums/. I have
SC1 mapmaking assistance bookmarked here which is accessible. Why don't I see it on the forum index?
None.
Might be because you accidentally ( or maybe that's how it starts out?) have had the sc1 forums hidden click on the wraith or the sc2lolge in the top of the site to weigh between or if you go to settings you can have both sets if forums open at he same time. I don't know why having it hidden is standard. We could lose potential members that way.
None.
Because the thought is that we're most likely to get, or eventually get, a higher intake of sc2 users, so to reduce clutter thry are set to be hidden by default. IMO the button should be more obvious and actually have a caption so someone that is joining for sc1 will know right off the bat.

Even so it seems like having only one game being shown at a time is standard and that doesn't seem like a good idea for new members. reducing clutter should take a back seat when it comes to new members knowing where to go for sc1 related things. People ask "is this a sc2 only site? where da sc1" all the time ;o
I'm still not sure if a new account has sc1 hidden though so I could be wrong
None.
Because you have to click the terran wraith in the top left to access SC1 content
