about scmdraft:
-is there a search function for the text trigger editor?
-at what number of strings of % strings used can there be errors?
-i read about possibly a new version of scmdraft, is it going to be released?

None.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

-copy and paste the triggers into a text editor, where you can use all sorts of functions not available in the simplistic text editor.
-string errors occur usually over 1000, but can occur even at less, especially when scmdraft recycles strings. Make lots of backups of your map, or save the strings for last. Avoid using the string editor.
-http://www.stormcoast-fortress.net/ - looks like SI hasn't updated in a while. I doubt the "new version" will be released soon.

about the search function, not to copy paste but to look up values in the triggers and quickly jump to it.

The text trigger editor is in it's alpha development phase (very early) a search feature doesn't exist. That's why you have to copy it to a text editor with more features.

Btw. the development of ScmDraft is on hold. Last time I spoke with SI he said his work uses up all his time and I suppose this won't get better anytime soon.

Most people use NotePad++ as it it has useful features while also being lightweight, and free.

I've never had a string corruption issue when working on my DS Night maps. As for using the string-editor, I only ever use that to edit existing strings I've created elsewhere. I've also never used it to delete strings - if I want to delete a string, I delete it in the same place that I created it.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
