I figured i would just compile a few questions in one post.
Thank you

1. How do you upload custom sounds for weapons and what format?
2. what is equivalent to the "always" condition from SC1?
3. what is equivalent to the "switch" action from SC1? and how do you randomize?
4. how does the unit magazine function work? limits?
5. i have a problem with a trigger....
Unit is facing South
Events
Unit - Any Unit Enters (Triggering region)
Local Variables
Conditions
(Triggering player) == 7
(Triggering region) == entire map
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) > 225.0
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) < 315.0
Actions
UI - Display "D1 down" for (All players) to Error area

i also have this trigger for North East and west and those work fine!
But this direction will not fire what so ever... Does the game not like this angle?

2. There is no always, only the periodic event. You should not need to use it in almost all cases, do your best not to use it as having to many of them will cause lag.
3. There is a switch action in SC2
4. The magazines are what carriers and brood lords use. Really its just a way of launching units from another unit. (Also you need to use the data editor to implement this)
5. The trigger probably is not working because you should specify the location in the event. Triggering location is a function to refer to the location that triggered the event. If you specify the location in the event you do not need to have a condition for it. You should also be aware that the trigger will only fire once per unit (since a unit can only enter anywhere once). You might as well use a unit created event.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

1. You can import sound files into your map. Do that in the import manager. You need to make a Data entry for the sound, too. I'm using ".ogg". In rare cases, ."wav"s will be compressed more than an ".ogg". Audacity is a good program to switch between those file types.

2. What Temp said and don't try to copy the methods you used in SC1. Just copy the aim, not the implementation, because sc1 was full of workarounds.

3. it's a boolean. It's exactly like a switch (true|false -> set|unset -> 1|0). But you can use Integers like death counts, if you have multiple states.

5. I think the angle becomes negative in sc2 in the south direction. I've read something about that on sc2mapster recently.

specified the event. check
removed the condition. check
still doesn't fire. i have the other three directions working but south just isnt possible. the angles stated for the other directions are

North
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) > 45.0
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) < 135.0
West
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) > 135.0
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) < 225.0
East
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) < 45.0
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) > 315.0
South
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) > 225.0
(Facing of (Triggering unit)) < 315.0

What i noticed is that "East" tends to fire when they are looking south. As in south is in east's domain... weird stuff
What confused me at first is that the SC2 makes 0 degrees facing East (Right) and 360 is the same degree as 0, so the difference between 45 and 315 is only 90 degrees.
But this trigger will still not fire. What i'm trying to do is make a unit's "Sight" possible. Like a sneaking mission where you can sneak around the enemies as long as you aren't in front of the enemy.
Is there an easier way to do this? Keep in mind that the enemy will be patrolling and looking in different directions.

You are correct sir! from right to top to left is 180 degrees in the positive and from right to bottom to left is 180 degrees in the negative
