I don't understand the solution to the offest glitch : "To prevent this, first use a Partial grid to move the center one grid point south (down) or south-west (bottom-left). After this, the new grid center will be without any offset, thus one can use a Mobile grid to move the grid center back. This will result in the grid center being centered on the subtile grid without offsets, hence allowing you to use Mobile grids normally from that point."
Can someone tell me how to do that?
None.
The offset glitch screws up grids due to the center of the grid not being perfectly aligned. To prevent it, you have to create a partial grid like so:
OOO
OXO
OXO
Where Xs are devourers and Os are nothing.
OR if you're using the Observer/Scourge grid,
OOO
OXO
XOO
Where Xs are units and Os are nothing. THEN you center your grid location on the newly created units, which will be aligned properly.
Make sense now?
None.
If there are no units in the way of where it wants to create or move a unit then it will create/move it perfectly in the center of the location you're creating-in/moving-to. However, if there is a unit in the way, it will check if it can place it somewhere near where it wants to aligned to a 1/4th tile grid. In other words, any unit that is created offset of where it tries to create it the first time is aligned to an imaginary 1/4th tile grid). Because the first unit created in a mobile grid has a very high chance of not being aligned to this grid we create 2 units at the location, remove the first that will mess up the grid and then base it off of the second.

If you could make a visual example of the problem that occurs and the reason to apply the fix, Imagedeo, that would be nice.
I've never bothered with it, so I don't know enough about it.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"

I've never actually encountered the offset glitch personally, because I've never based a mobile grid off of a nonstationary unit. I don't really feel like making a test map at the moment... but I might.
I don't think it's terribly important unless the original poster doesn't understand it yet. So I'll wait for feedback from him before making a test map and screenshots.

Interesting...
So what you want to do is center the location on the bottom middle dev, remove them all, create 6 devs, center on the top devs, remove them all, and create 9 for the new grid. The reason is that the second dev created is in the proper position to make a mobile grid, but the first dev is not.
