Alright, so I'm making a new site, and doing it all from CSS this time. My question, is how (if it's possible...I know CSS has some issues) to make an extended navbar. What I mean is, I have one div that goes down the center of my page, with the body background on it. At the top of this div, is another div, a header. It has the navbar/header graphic. Now this works fine, the issue is, that the graphic is supposed to expand horizontally to fill the screen. With tables I would just set one table on the left to be however wide, and let it expand from the page edge till it contacted the div. Then do the same for the right. I am finding it quite impossible to put divs side by side. I've tried floating and have had no luck, but then again I'm sure I could be missing something.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Yeah, Divs are a bit obnoxious like that,
this page gives an explaination as to how it works, if that doesn't work for you, you can always
google your question and find more.

Have googled...and come along things like that link...problem is...and it could just be that I'm overworked and tired now...but I can't seem to grasp it, can someone explain what is going on in that code?
Thanks, sharf
