alright, so its not really anything special, its basically just masses of doodads in arrangements fit for their description. And even the broken bridge was covered by sprites, it was alright though. Overall i think it would be good for beginners wanting to make some sort of landscape...

:payne:

There is "a lot" of blockiness in your picture :S

I just threw something together :P I didn't care one way or the other what it looked like

Why make it? Not many people will use something you 'threw together' with little/no effort.

Dec 31 2009, 12:14 am Marine Post #66

The brush I put all my effort into.

The picture I did not.

The brush took me 9 hours to compile and organize.

The picture took me 10 minutes.

The brush has almost no blockiness.

The picture does because I didn't pay attention to the same level things would be put onto.

Do not tell me about little/no effort when something takes this long.

That shows unappreciation for the time and effort put into something for you to be a better terrainist. It also shows ignorance as if you can do better from scratch.

That's how it comes off when I see what you put up.

Be more clear next time. Don't assume I won't act like you're talking about the whole brush itself and not the picture, because I won't know.

Use your context above you. Payne described the picture, I responded to what he said, which is the picture. I shouldn't have to say it's the picture because it was already clear.

I find that half the terrain work I have to do myself when I use brushes and/or compilations, merely because it doesn't fit tile-for-tile or I need something edited. :P

Installation brushes that I've made. Custom Substructure gore, broken floor tiles, and a little bit of other stuff. 'Cause ya gotta love custom Substructure gore... Mixing and matching body parts -- it's like Mr. Potato Head, but with dead and mangled bodies! :D

P.S. I could not figure out the format used in Stacked Cliffs, and Trees crashed SCMDraft2 whenever I tried to open it. Explanation plz?

9 hours of work and not one hit? Shows how much this topic is never looked at/cared for by the community... When it should be.

Updated first post so it highlights others' work too.
I forgot this project was about sharing all the brushes from everybody.

Those water images look too normal to be custom. =/

However, the installation brush looks good. Could use some more content, though.

Jan 2 2010, 5:41 am Marine Post #76

If you're talking about my brush, try downloading it and see for yourself. They're not normal, trust me.

Yet another update to my Installation brush. Current version: 3.

New additions:
  • Walls. (edges and north corners)
  • Floor pillars. (Bases and tops are separated, to allow for mixing and matching.)
  • Merged staircase.
  • Glowing Floor tile. (Combination: Wall bottoms and Plating top edges.)
  • Narrow Floor pillar. (What you'd get if you slapped down a roof tile, and trimmed it to just being a "dot" instead of a square.)

DAMN that's a lot of custom doodads. Some of them I've never seen before and they look AMAZING. Thanks payne. I never got around to downloading these but I'm glad I nabbed them all :D. Must have taken you a while....
