Ok here we go! I would add a poll to this but I just wanted to see what you guys would say is the best messenger being any one of them out there. Post your vote and tell us which one you like the best. If it is something that is not commonly known then add a link to a wiki page of it or maybe their website or something. If you guys want to put down your screen name on their then be my guest but I am not going to take blame for things in that matter
. If someone is not on the list then you can still vote for it and I will add it to the list. The list will be edited from time to time tallying the number of votes for each messenger.

Well if i'd have to choose probably MSN, But i use Adium so if your talking of the program itself then adium.
Adium is mac only tho. Yes, this is talking about the program itself... not the service that each one of these may offer. Trilian is another example of this type of thing since that connects like MSN, AIM, & Yahoo all together for Windows

Trillian isn't a messenger. Its every messenger.

be-there-in-person-face-to-face-using-your-voice messenger

Why is pidgin not in the list?

MSN 7.5
Have never tried anything else than different versions of MSN. And Live Messenger sucks imo. 7.5 ftw!
And why didn't you make a poll?
Why is pidgin not in the list?
Isn't pidgin just the old name for trilly?
MSN. Simple and easy to use.
None.
Trillian by far. It's simple and sleek design is both compact and expansive. Highly customizable, and I dont get popups like I did when I had AIM.
Go trillian pro!

I got to say Trillian and Xfire. Trillian for it's almost all messenger support and Xfire for it's gaming thing.
None.
AIM itself isn't that good, but everyone I know uses it, so there's no point of me having anything else.

Everyone uses AIM in my area, so I use pidgin. AIM = Oscar, which anything can connect to.

Oscar = server it's on? I recognise the name.
None.
I vote MSN. Just never used anything else.

There are protocols, and then there are messengers... but besides that.
I like DeadAIM(which is a modification of AIM 5.9) for it's simplicity and lack of resource use, although I admit it doesn't really have much going for it besides that..
However, I would probably say Pidgin is the best. I've tried Kopete, but there are just too many things that got on my nerves with that program.
None.
I'd probably say MSN even though I've never used it but I've seen it used. Most people use AIM though.
None.
Skype is the single best messenger I've ever used. Makes AIM look like lameware.
