I just started playing gears of war and wanna know what u guys think of it. For me its a fairly good game, I find it a good mix of Halo 2 and Ghost Recon .

Please dont spoil the ending though, im still trying to kill General RAAM

Dude, I love that game. I beat it on insane with my bro. It's hard. On live it's really good. I'd say it's either as good or better than Halo.

Better in every aspect except "jump", which doesnt exist sadly.

I think that the game should be a little bit more... realistic when it comes to multiplayer combat. I never understood how I would always shoot the guy in the head with the shot gun but yet I always die from something like a pistol to my baby toe. Other than that it is a very fun game to play both on and offline

TRY to imagine them jumping in that game... In Halo, Masterchief is genetically enhanced. I thought of the jumping too but I thought of them trying to jump in that heavy armor and stuff. My friend was getting all pissed cause we couldn't jump though I tried to explain to him why I think they didn't put jump in but he never listens to my arguments.

Good point, when I think about it I almost lol...reminds me of a fat kid.


I noticed that too...shotgun is underpowered and I don't see why everyone thinks revolvers are very powerful...definately not as powerful as a shotgun. What I like though is the satisfying explosion of a head when my sniper hits it's mark.

I enjoy that and the fact of grinding someones head into the blades of my machine gun for that matter, that is the thing that I do now since the Shotgun seems to be 'gay' most of the time...

General RAAM kills Dumbledore with Rosebud, causing Trinity to die. They are both Tyler Durden.

Shotgun isn't underpowered..., try it in multi-player and the revolver is powerful, i think 3 shots will down and 2 shots to the head will kill. Snub pistol is good too, semi-automatic and can headshot easily. Also any gun can make their head explode except like Lancer, and Boomshot, and Torque I think.

Gears of war is a good game for sure. The only problem I had was that the Single Player was waaaay to short for me. I don't have Live... Or a person on equal caliber to play Co-op with so... I just find myself pwning ass on Insane over and over again which gets boring... So I kinda stopped playing... But yeah Its a gooder. Must have for anyone with a 360.

What I meant was I dont understand why all those game makers treat the revolver like a godsend. And I dont care if other guns make heads explode...the sniper will deliver the most satisfcation any day. And that list is like half the guns in the game...its not a big list but its true.

And Joshgt, I like my sniper more, its way more satisfying when you pull off a good headshot...plus the chainsaw pisses me off when it doesnt work.

Of course the revolver sucks ass... It's hella powerful but hella slow and hard to hit people with in mutliplayer which is why nobody uses it in multiplayer.

I mean IRL...all the game makers uber power the gun...like in every game it is in.

I played this game once, and I ran out of ammo. Beating people down was fun, though.

Am I the only one here who thinks it's way overhyped? I mean, just look at what happens when you use the chainsaw on a short enemy... It starts spraying blood about two feet over its head, and the blood comes from YOUR BACK. Also, enemies taking cover really isn't revolutionary, I don't see how they're any smarter than other AI... It really isn't that great.

Gears of War isn't meant to be realistic by any means, its just a third person shooter thats aimed at being fun.

If you're looking for realism then you should be playing Tom Clancy games.

I don't have a problem with it being unrealistic, but with the chainsaw thing, it's just that they were lazy... Blood shouldn't start flying and your enemy shouldn't be writhing in pain until the chainsaw actually enters their body, ya know?
