Recently, a friend of mine came to me talking about his own research in Female Pedophilia, or the sexual abuse of children by women. What I learned from her that day shocked and surprised me. Trying to introduce myself into Serious Discussion brought back these memories and motivated me to do further research upon this subject and here are my results (French sources, sorry you can use Google Translator if you're really willing to read them to confirm my sources):
Based of this source, 22% of sexual abuse crimes against children are done by women, and 80% of these women have been abused in their life. 65% of the children abused by women are little girls.
Another source (here) states that in half of the total number of child abuse cases, a woman is involved, and also that most of these cases would not have occurred if the women involved had been alone during the incident. Women grouped with others with a similar pathology have an increased chance of abusing children.
I've also listened to an audio file of approximately 17 minutes (an interview about a French book talking of this subject, in fact) which mentioned that the women acknowledge their guilt much more easily than men, which means that they seem to know that their actions were not good for the child. The audio file spoke about Angers' lawsuit, one of the biggest pedophilia's trials of recent history which involved 27 women of 56 accused.
All of this information startled me: I was sure that women had a much bigger involvement than I thought in such matters, but not that much.
I would like to end this with a quote from a girl in the second source: "Mom, I will not ever understand. You, dad, I pardon you..."
It is pretty philosophical and could lead to different interpretations. To me, after reading/hearing all this information, it seems like women always were over-protected from the justice system and the general morality/ethics of our society: I do understand that when a couple divorces, the woman has more chances of keeping the kids, but it is not normal that there are so little chances for the dad to keep them. It is irrational to me.
Finally, this whole thing was mostly to develop over an underground case of the general pity given to women... what do you think of it?
You can also discuss about my little research if you want to.
Once again, thanks to Vrael for correcting <3
EDIT: Added sources xD
