I'm a map maker/UMS sports gamer on b.net and I was wonder if there was a way to block LowLatency Programs using EUD in maps or if there was just a way in general to block it.
If so it'd help if you could give me a walkthrough or something to adding it to a map or you doing it personally.

Your help is Respected and Charitable thank you.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Yes, but you have to find the address. What program is it, and where does it modify SC's memory? If you can figure that out, then I can make the trigger easy.

006556CC Latency Value (local options)
From what I gather it sets this value to -1 or something. It's too late for me to figure out. I'll look into it this weekend.

Please don't post hacks, even though this is fairly mundane. Obviously you want to stop this, so why spread it?

For one, I'm wondering what reason you could possibly have to want to block those programs, I'm not sure if they really don't hurt anyone, they simply set it to the best speed.

Anyways, rockz, I did the scans myself and got 006556E4(StarCraft.exe+2556E4) for the address, and it's 4 bytes, so it's easily detectable by EUD, however, I'm not sure if you can always detect LowLatency, because while you're right how the hack sets it to -1, if I remember correctly, LowLatency is somewhat intelligent, and if the game is being somewhat laggy, it will set it to whatever latency is best for you, so it doesn't always set it to -1, however, if they're in a slightly laggy game, it isn't detectable, because unlike most hacks, it doesn't inject anything into SC, it runs in an outside program.

Anyways, if you want to detect when the Latency is set to -1, your trigger would be:
Code
Conditions:
If Player 5 has suffered exactly 4294967295(or -1?) deaths of Unit ID: 17341
Actions:
    Do whatever you want

And from testing that should actually allow you to detect who is hacking, because all other player's still have their values at 0-2, so only the hacker should have that.

The reason is that it provides an unfair advantage to those who are using it. And this is not the opinion of just BigBy, it's the opinion of a lot of those who are actually on battle.net playing games, unlike you.

The lowlatency hack is a serious issue that's affecting battle.net communities such as the obs lovely players and nfl blitz players. I wouldn't be surprised if it's affecting others as well, maybe even TS, but it's just not as well known or spread in those.

Pariah that is the true cause for this trigger request I'm putting it into Obs maps and the NFL Blitz map and even in my new basketball map.

I think that 832384 is the number you'd have to use for the Memory offset if you're using the new Memory condition, not sure if I converted it right though.

>be faceless void >mfw I have no face

I assume it's not this easy to block other hacks?

I once got accused of using a lat hack on dodge d, even though I hadn't realised such a thing existed ;p .

Actually, most other hacks are pretty easy to block, the problem is that the popular hacks, such as Oblivion, randomly select where to put their information into memory, so it's hard to find a constant spot that always is different if a hack is injected. Of course, it's totally possible to find them, you just have to be willing to do enough memory scans to do so.

Well 1 LAN program was successfully blocked but I'm working on gathering information on others so I can get more anti-LAN triggers for the maps.

So wait, does this hack give you a latency lower than low?

Jul 24 2009, 8:02 pm Falkoner Post #12

Yeah, it sets your latency value, which is usually 0-2(0=Low, 2=Extra High), to -1, which is basically an Extra Low, I tried changing it to other values, like 500, and it just ended up freezing up my game, like, I could select units and such, but I couldn't order them or anything.

Well, this wasn't made for any specific program, like most anti-hack EUDs are, it was made to detect it anything sets the Latency value to -1, which is, to my knowledge, what basically every latency hack does.
