if blizzard publishes more flexible StarEdit version, we can make more attractive maps but i don't think they don't do it

The older DOTAs had a lot more complicated and flashy spells and custom models but it drove it to mass map size and made downloading and loading the map take forever. To counter this they remade the map in a simpler way, but I find it much more fun and a lot easier to understand now.

Well I don't mean flashy spells..
but Complicated spells in terms of adding more to the gameplay isn't something that should be neglected...

TS needed the flashy spells cause SC... i mean seriously.. is not flashy at all XD... If I didn't make them flashy, it wouldn't be as popular.... same goes for WAF... which is pure eye-candy.
What I basically DOTA's heroes' spells don't add to the strategy and variety as much as I would have expected it to... For Temple Siege's criteria, making a hero that has a "nuking" spell and a "buffing" spell would be taking the easy way out and being lazy in creating a new hero...
(but of course, due to SC's lack of the ability to change unit properties... ... yeah.. this sorta becomes a requirement.. not so in WC)

Map size limitations suck.. I wish Blizzard could fix it.. I don't understand why it takes 10x longer to DL a game thru b.net :C...

BTW.. What are you DOTA players' most favorite spells?? I know everyone loves the Meat Hook ... but what are some other spells that just stands out?

Thunder Clap, Drunken Haze and Primal Split.

None of those are overly unique except primal split.

My favorites are Puck's Illusory Orb, Jakiro's Ice Path, Lina's Dragon Slave, Lion's Mana Drain, and Pugna's Decrepify. Those are just off the top of my head. There are even cooler ones like Enigma's ultimate, which I forget the name, but it's basically a black hole turned into an orb of death.

lol, if you want to see some interesting heroes and abilities, try Advent of the Zenith or Desert of Exile. There are others too, but those are the ones that stand out in my mind right now, as far as hero abilities go.

I have WC3, not installed at the moment, but I have it. I used to play DOTA and eventually got the hang of it. However, that took place years ago, and whenever I tried to play it again people would not have the patience to play with me. I forgot all of the item combinations and pretty much all of the tactics. It really is a bitch getting back into it, because a lot of the people are impatient assholes.

I haven't played in a few months, but my favorite heroes are Lightning Rev, Necrolite, Drow Ranger, and Life Stealer. Yes, I know they're all cheese-factories (although Life Stealer has been nerfed in recent patches), but they are all hella fun.

Naix wasn't nerfed he was entirely remade.

lol, maybe some of you could come on US West server on Warcraft 3 TFT, channel Clan LLDN when some of the CC/SA people play. They play on Friday and Saturday starting at 8 PM eastern time on each day.

As far as DotA, it usually isn't the main thing played.

Advent of the Zenith and Desert of Exile are sex in terms of... everything. However, it is not as popular, perhaps due to a relatively steep learning curve. Still, I regard it much more highly than I do with DotA.

I'd advertise AotZ and DoE more, but... Eh...

It's a beta and most of the 'leaked' betas are fake versions with cheats in them.

I got mine from a DotA Blog; it has the Batrider, the Tauren Chieftain, imba Razor and Viper . All new skills have not text.

Jakiro woooaaah he's like the best or nearly the best but not as good as abaddon or...meh ...i forgot the name...anyway, Elazor ROCKS with his light move, pwns the creeps!! And a favorite of mine is...duh...can't remember SO many heroes I've played anywayz, people are sad on DotA I can never get the ganking business, very frustrating ...No one (apart from me) gets Divine Rapier and it gives you 200 Damage, If you ever need DotA related help let me know, i'm actually a proffesional goodluck
