Good ol' Unit Unplaceable

In my map, sometimes there is a need to move things like ground units and powerups near the players main unit. Of course, when said unit is next to a wall, things that get moved to it instead go to the center. In an attempt to circumvent this, I made a small location in the center of the map and had things that went there be moved to a larger location centered on where they should have gone, but as long as there is a wall or otherwise unusable sapce around the middle of the location, the move doesn't work. Is there any other way to solve this problem?

If it doesn't move correctly, use a mobile grid to check locations near the center of the location where you are moving it to to see if they can be moved to. If they can be moved to, move the unit there instead. This method has worked well so far in my map, which also has to circumvent a number of unit unplacable errors.

Is there a way to use mobile grids like that without just brute-forcing it, or do I have to make a mobile grid, center the location, try to move, and repeat until it works?

Here's the triggers I used:

There is a much simpler solution. Say you want to move unit A to your hero. You must find a unit B that is greater or equal in every dimentsion than unit A. Then do the following:

Create unit B at a remote location. Move unit B to your hero. Remove unit B. Create unit A to the location where unit B was.

Also, in response to this:
Quote
be moved to a larger location centered on where they should have gone
Contrary to popular belief, the size of the location units are moved to or created at does not change the outcome in any way (as long as the location center is where you want it to be).

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
