They knew it was me because my school has extremely detailed keyloggers and everything you open. They know if you had a typo d;

Ours has Novell, it's really not very good, what are you trying to do?

Get one machines IP address with ipconfig, open up Dxdiag, go to Network tab, click Test Direct Play, create a new session, then have other computers join that session using your IP address. Much better for messaging :)

It's not that the workstation is advanced. It's the actual internet server that it's working on that's annoying me.
The server itself is supposed to host like, 4000-5000 accounts - most of them being student accounts.

The thing actually blocks ADrive.

Oh yeah, do you have WebSense? Most of those internet blockers are blocked at the server, rather than at the receiving workstation, so it's pretty much impossible to get around the protection unless you can find a proxy that they don't have blocked, I was using BWHack's proxy for a while..

Mostly I just set all the computers to nmap. They really hate that.

Lulz, last year I pinged every computer in our district that was on and started getting into all the shared folders that weren't passworded :P

All proxies I've tried are either dead, or take forever to respond.

That proxy never failed me during my entire high school career.

I would like to do something as a senior prank next year with my school's network. As far as I can tell the school security system is rather simple, and the computers all have deep-freeze. The computers use Novell btw. In order to get around the deep-freeze you have to have an admin account to save files onto a computer permanently, or you can use the student shared drive (which is checked rather frequently for anything suspicious). At one point in time I gained access to some files on the school server by creating a desktop shortcut to the server. I was brought in and questioned, I told them what I did and they let me go with just saying that I wouldn't do that again. I also put starcraft on a few friends shared drives so we could play with each other, and I was caught (someone told on me) and they were all deleted. Nobody was penalized.

Anyways, what I want to do is to create a file that will transfer to all the computers in my school, and preferably shut down the computer as the computer starts up. I can create a simple batch file to do that, I just have really no clue on how to create something that will infect the entire network. When my admins brought me in to talk about starcraft, they were especially afraid I was going to modify the program to allow it to send files across the server and do serious damage, but I have absolutely no idea how to do that XD

I also want to be able to have the file delete itself after a certain date, like 24 hours. Or I could just create another file that will search and destroy the shutdown file. Or, I could include a "cure" turn-off switch, as in you press and hold the A and the J key, and the file will stop working from then on. I'm sure I could figure out how to do this part with ease also. I could also just ignore a cure and let the deepfreeze take care of it.

I just would love to know how to create a file to infect all the pc's in my school, or how to put the file onto each pc.

I don't exactly need an admin account (I have already tried the method in the OP a long time ago, and I couldn't create a Novell admin account, just a windows admin account) to get around the deepfreeze, since I could use the deepfreeze as a cure or vaccination for my file.

All said in done, I would love to render the computers unusable for a day as a harmless prank.

Does anyone know how I could go about this?

Writing a file to shut down the computers on-boot is simple, a batch file with the shutdown command placed in the All Users startup folder should do the trick, making it spread is EXTREMELY difficult, for one, you'd have to learn how to do some network programming, and two, I have no idea how you'd get around basic MS security if it isn't left wide open for you.

However, if you were able to get administrative rights, I wouldn't be surprised if Novell has a way of installing programs on each computer.

A while ago I read an article that made a batch file disguised a login client update. The login client (like novell) then had it sent to each computer. The article was based on STI, and not novell, so of course it didn't work..

But I see.. I think I can gain administrative rights. The librarian has full admin access to basically everything, and her student aids do all sorts of repetative work for her such as scanning the shared drives of students, updating programs for the deep-freeze. And so on and so forth.

Sounds like it would be easier to just put it onto each computer rather than having it spread.

BTW, I have basic knowledge of C++, and AS3.. Though AS3 won't help here lolol

Ah, perfect, and I'm pretty sure you could make a batch file copy a file to each folder, however, the real issue is getting the computer to either A: Run the program in the first place, or B: Put the program in its Startup folder, it would help to know what kind of tools the Novell Admins have..
