Hi. I just registered on SEN a few minutes ago (I finally decided that the terms of service were safe - yes, I actually read them XD).
I happen to be working on an open rpg for starcraft, and I wanted people to rate my storyline so I'll know whether I should go with it or not. Where would I post this? Would it be under UMS Mapping Theory and Ideas (since they're essentialy ideas for a map) or UMS Mapping Assisstance (since I'm technically asking for assisstance on keeping my self esteem about my ideas up)?

While I'm here, I have another question: I'm trying to make an avatar, but apparently the picture file I have is saved as a .bmp, which isn't one of the allowed file types. Is there a way I can change the file type?

Also, I'm not in Mp) anymore. Mp) died . I was the last to go, unless you include the guys who were never logged in.

Use Paint to open the file and save it as a .jpeg or .png.

Open it with paint and select "save as" and select a different format other than bmp. I strongly recommend .png

Now it tells me that it's too big (I specifically edited it so that it was 123 by 123 pixels, barely under the limit)... what do I do?

Resize the image using a program called Irfanview.

Google for the program.

It probably is too big in size. Does it say if it's a size problem or a dimension one?

It didn't specify on dimensions or file size, so I was a bit confused. It appears that my file is slightly over 4 times the limit >_<. Meh, I guess it's the colors or something. I'll find a new avatar for now D=.

Just so I know in case I ever need to post in that forum, how do I make and post screenshots? Do they want screeshots, of, say, the minimap, or the units in action, or the trigger list, or what?

By the way, is it true that the "minerals" feature of staredit no longer exists? Someone told me that once. If so, how do I buy things in the SEN store? I want to be able to buy the right to make a signature at some point XD.

Minerals are a feature of sen. They've been disabled at the moment but everybody's hoping they come back one day.

You can take screenshorts inside of sc with the prnt scrn button in your PC and you can convert them to png with irfanview to post them.

Ok, but what kind of screenshots do they want?

Do they want in-game pics? Pics of the trigger list? Pics of stuff being placed in scmdraft?

Any picture. Usually people use in-game or in-editor pictures, almost never of trigger lists.

Anything, terrain screenshots, actions taking place in the map, in game screenshots, anything that helps you sell your project.
