I've done a ton of 3d level design for some FPS games, and when you add custom content like sounds/music you have to pack them in with the map file.
So if I have triggered sounds, will I just hear them or will everyone?
If not how to I pass them on with the map.
None.
Erm.. basically you upload ur Wav file onto the map using the map editor.. then trigger PlayWav ..
If your triggers are correct.. everyone shall hear the music..
The music is Dl'ed along with the map.
(so that's why it's a long dl

SCMDraft has a very nice screen and layout for managing your sound files and using the starcraft sounds that come with the game without adding the size to your map... I'd recommend to use scmdraft for everything you do anyways because it's so awesome, but I suppose this is just another one of those areas where it'd be easier to accomplish what you want using scmdraft

Yes I have it downloaded, but I do NOT have BW expansion pack.
Is there a version that works with just SC, I've just been using StarEdit.
Although I have used it before and StarEdit X-tra.
Does SCMDraft have triggering?
If so is it better/easier then StarEdit?
None.

I'm guessing you've mapped in hammer?
It's totaly different from sc mapping. The players that you set the triggers for are the ones that will hear it. Also; you don't need a "SC version." Just do not include Brood War units in the map. What I do is just use SCMDraft for terrain/extra stuff, and use the old xtra editor for triggers.

Yes I've used Hammer for the longest time now. Counter-Strike Source maps. Yes, its a completely different thing, of course.
Ok, so I only have SC, I can open and use SCMDraft for terrain etc, that would be great. Then save it and open it in X-tra. The thing is I tried installing X-tra and it wants the BW cd?
Idk I'll have to try it again. I did this not to long ago and I had to download a non-legit version of BW, to get it to work.

It's generally a bad idea to go back and forth between editors; everything xtra can do SCMDraft can do better without being laid out any more complicated. Since you're having trouble with xtra anyways, just use scmdraft.
