What do you think? I already got a 2.13DUO core I'm going to put in it, and I think that's all I'm missing. (Besides the cords for the HDD, but I Got them)

Recommendations to parts to change are welcome.

750 watt PSU is overkill for that build. Better PSU for your build

I'd also say don't bother with your PCI cooling fan. Your 8800 doesn't need to be OCed, and if it does to actually play a game, you need a new graphics card anyway. Also, there is absolutely no reason to not get Vista now. I have played the Crysis open beta, and it is beautiful. With the money you save on your PSU, buy an 8800 GTX instead. You will notice a substantial graphical improvement!

Besides, your PSU and motherboard should come with all the cables you need.

Ermm, order from Newegg.

Get an IP35-E instead of your IB9.. It will support the new 45nm line of processors from Intel.

Drop the cooling fan.

Get an RC-690 instead of that case (you wont be able to get that case anyway, if you order from NewEgg.)

Performance wise, it goes 2900 Pro, 8800 GTS, 2900 XT, 8800 GTX, and that's how the pricing goes too. I haven't been able to find power consumption numbers for the 2900 Pro, but I'm guessing two of them in crossfire would give performance fairly close to an 8800 GTX, but the power consumption would likely be significantly higher. Higher power consumption can pretty easily cost $15, $20 a month in electricity bills, so that might be something to keep in mind.

Ermm.. I personally have a case with a side window, and it loses its novelty in like a week.. But if that's your thing...

The HD 2900PRO is basically an HD2900XT, just downclocked... the HD 2900 Pro has the capabillity of easilly getting to HD 2900 XT's clock speeds.. I mean, even the coolers are the same.. :\

For 280 or whatever you can find it for, it's a good deal, and I'd take it over the 8800GTS 320mb :\

Also, it has more VRAM, so if you are interested in playing at higher resolutions..

Can anyone recommend a case to me? Preferably one that has a clear side.

The Silverstone SST-TJ07-BW looks absolutely beautiful, and it's built like a tank (no joke). I'd feel pretty safe taking a baseball bat to the main frame, although probably not the side panels.

I agree it is sexy indeed! but I don't want to spend $329.99 on a computer case XD, how about a case within 0-100?

There is a reason I'm not recommending a case with a side panel, because at this price range, no side paneled case can compete with what I have suggested. I'm really trying to drive this point through.. I know from experience.. having a windowed side panel is just a gimmick..

But hey, if having a smaller, louder, warmer, more akward case is what you're into, be my guest..

Actually, they're both great cases.. I want the Lian Li so badly though, perhaps for Christmas.. maybe not, though.

I understand what you mean, but I want a case that looks good to, you know? how about This computer case would that be good? I mean if you could recommend a case that has a similar style I wouldn't have a problem deciding, I just don't like spending 200+ on a computer case when that money could go to something like more ram.

A side panel isn't a must but I want one that has a nice look to it, I'm sure you can understand.


Edit: After I reviewed your post a bit more This case looks like I wouldn't mind using it, is it a good case and do you think it'd provide enough cooling for a 8800GTX?

RC-690 can both fit an 8800GTX, and cool it sufficiently.

I am not sure whether the NZXT Apollo can even fit the 8800GTX, some cases aren't big enough for it.

Addons for the case are a class statement. For this budget, you're worrying about quality components. Don't get me wrong, you've got a solid build right there, and you'll be very happy with it, but it would be stupid to spend money on making the case look cooler / get high end cooling when that stuff isn't really applicable for your components. I think I'm going to refuse to buy water cooling or any extra cooling above $100 for any future builds. It'd be much more worth it to save the money towards future computers.

Aha okay . Thanks everyone I"m going to buy the parts with in the next week. Thanks for the help and I'll still look for any recommendations for changes or addons.
