I. Introduction

Welcome everyone, The Fall Of The Confederacy is a Terran campaign that I have started, I have completed the first mission and I can promise you each one will be packed with cinematics, a challenge, and plenty of readable mission briefings. I started this around 3 AM and after making the map, testing triggers numerous times, and making
lots of tweaks, I am ready to release the first mission and get opinions.

II. The Story So Far

To be honest with you I haven't worked up much of a story, but this is mainly whats going on:

A small, forgotten faction, the Iakan Force, as they call themselves, have decided to rise up and be recognized as a challenge to other factions, deciding to reclaim some lost territory they head to Khalos Station, a space platform that they had left a Resource Base on, arriving they detect hostiles in the location of it. After establishing a base they send a scout up and find out that zerg have infested it, after killing the infestation they find four survivors and luckily get access to a starport that wasn't harmed. After making a Command Center they get contacted by the Confederate Leader Ian Riosa, Who offers them a peaceful surrender or a painful death.
Of course, they say hell no to the surrender and decide to head to war. I'll let you find out the rest of the story in the map.

III. Some Characters

Some characters you will encounter will be Lt. Tyler, who is a young officer that is taking place for a higher rank while he is out on a mission, he acts tough around most of the marines because he isn't exactly on the large side of men, so he doesn't want to get picked on. Another character you run into in this story is Ian Riosa who you heard about earlier, taking throne after the death of the leader before him, Now killing all people that even walk on his territory. It is your job in this story to take out all of him until he gone, not a spec may stay.

IV. Notes

I tried to make the map as non-bland as possible, covering some platforms with doodads.
This map requires an average to almost average melee player to beat, of course you get a little treat at the end for doing so good against mass armies of terran.
This map took me about 8 hours to make, 2 hours for the map and triggers, 6 hours for all the tweaking and testing. I tried to provide a very professional mission briefing, I apologize if I didn't have enough in it, I'm still learning to make them perfect.
YOU WILL GET BEST QUALITY OF THE MAP IN SINGLE PLAYER, THIS MAP HAS NOT BEEN TESTED ON BATTLE.NET!

V. Download

The map is attached to this post, Please leave any comments, suggestions, constructive criticism.

Is my comment clear?
-It is always a good idea to make your comment in a clear and understandable manner. Using proper punctuation and grammar should help immensely. Unreadable advice isn't all that helpful.

IS MY COMMENT CONSTRUCTIVE AND POSITIVE?
I'm sick of seeing flaming and trolling based on the quality of someone's map. If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

Replay attached.

An interesting note: creep under player 12 terran buildings doesn't go away. That was actually really fucking annoying :P I didn't realize I could take control of all of those buildings so I killed most of them. Moving on to the map:

The briefings weren't as readable as you claim. Whatever the marine said went away too fast. As for ingame, it was pretty professional, although you have to note that when text gets too long for a line, you have to add another colour character. It was decently fun, however pretty easy.

spoiler

All in all, decent map. The story isn't really a story yet, so I can't quite comment on that. Mineral/geyser placement could be a bit more convenient.

Make the platforms less linear and less square.

Less linear I can understand, but less square? Why? Man-made platforms are more likely to be square than anything else.

I don't understand terrain terms that much, can you explain linear or any others to me?

None.

Dungeon Master

By linear, he just means that there's only one direction you can take to get to the enemy. Alternate routes, widening existing routes, etc will help alleviate this.

Ultraviolet -- Yeah, I suppose there's something to that

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless
[2024-5-06. : 5:02 am]
Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[2024-5-06. : 5:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Ultraviolet -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[2024-5-06. : 12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
