Predator of Bed Chambers

I'm a pretty big fan of many MMORPG's but I have to admit I was a bit iffy about playing Warhammer Online due to it not being Warhammer 40k, rather play as a Marine shooting the shit out of Zergling like creatures.

After playing it for a while and getting use to all the classes I have to admit it was rather additive and kickass.

Questing was say-so like any MMORPG, what really made it own is the PvP Well in WH case RvR or Scenario's.

Unlike most MMORPG's eg; World of Warcraft ya couldn't PvP Till level 10, while in Warhammer ya can PvP at level 1 and still own a level 11 somewhat.

Soon as you entered RvR Scenario ya would have your stats boosted to level 8 basic stats, When ya kill an enemy play ya would gain XP / Renown.

Pretty much ya couldn't stay in PvP forever and own it since ya would rank up sooner or later.

With Renown points ya could buy armor and gear as well bonus stats too your character.

I also found PvPing pretty balanced, ye healers were a bitch to kill still.

Soon as ya hit like rank 11 to 12 ya could take part in keep fights even more fun, taking over a keep which had strong guards inside.

As well using rams and siege weapons to help aid ya in taking of it.

Enough about PvPing, more to questing and stuff now.

During the progress of the game ya could do public questing zones where ya get Influence which later if ya have enough points ya could get some new gear greens or white.

Though ya got some better gear from the RvR Open zones from Tier sets, like in Tier 2 mainly epics ya could get.

Anyway pretty much I enjoyed the game and if ya into PvPish types of mmorpgs then Warhammer online might be worth a shot for ya to play.

I bought WAR when it was released, but didn't bother adding any subscription back then. Was quite fun though, however, being a Squig Herder became boring after a while (it's rank 19 now).
About a week ago I decided to give it a try again. Decided to play on a Black ork I'd already gotten to rank 11. Sadly it's now next to impossible to get any PQs done, no matter how genious the idea might be, as there's no people around anymore. Entering the open RvR zones usually result in me being zerged by 10-20 Orders. Guess the scenarios are still ok though.

I guess it helped that I leveled up with my friends, I was a black ork, one was a shaman and another was a dps role.

I think was a marauder can't really remember.

So we did PQ's pretty easy together as well as Open RvR.

I still carried a 2h axe around with my ork because he could do some mass dmg at times, had action bar 1 setup for tanking and action bar 2 setup for DPS.

Though from rank 1 to 12 we only did RvR Scenario's to rank up with and no real PQ's.

Since Tier 2 area had better stuff.

With many updates to Warhammer Online it pretty fun now, but dead in some zones.

I mean like.. Tier 2 RvR Scenario's barely pop at times, can get pretty damn boring.

But meh in the end it was fun to play.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

Hmm I'm still trying to figure out if I wanna get involved in this or not. My interest in WoW is somewhat dwindling (though I'll most likely still play daily, regardless), and War seems like the only good alternative.

I'm eternally surprised that Lord of the Rings Online hasn't garnered more attention. It's a great alternative to WoW with a stable player base (several hundred thousand). While not the most popular MMO, it holds its own in terms of numbers. Back in the summer, there was a bit of an exodus for Age of Conan, but it took about two months for people to realize that the end game was completely destroyed in that game. I don't regret trying Age of Conan out, and I hear that since leadership has changed hands, AoC is really shaping up to be a fantastic, well rounded game. I tried WoW out as well, and it was decent, but then again, Guild Wars was decent too. If I'm paying a subscription fee (however small a month for the amount that I play), I still want to have the most fun that I can. It's pretty late and I don't want to bog you down with all the reasons why LotRO is great, but from what I've heard from LotRO players returning from Warhammer, the latter leaves a lot to be desired in an MMO.

Well I am buying LOTRO, just not in at EB Games right now.

Seems LOTRO Shadow of Angmar isn't being released anymore maybe because of Mines of Moria I still don't know if mines of moria is SoA + MoM.

My friend said if I like MMORPG's I should give LOTRO a shot which I am since like Devlin I am getting bored of WoW just doing same raids over and over again.

Anyway I guess I'll get back to ya once I've played LOTRO for awhile and see how it goes.
