I'm making the title of a short super-hero comic I'm writing for a friend to be an acronym. It be spelt TAEL TAIL or TALE (preferably the last 2)

The characters have abnormal growths from their bodies, these give them their powers. For shorthand they refer to them as "tails"

Thaumaturgic Appendage In-between Legs.

The protagonist is a 16 yr old realist(might makes right) with a selfish personality. He wakes up one day with tiny angel wings. He can't feel or move them, so he isn't exactly thrilled. He finds that a good trick to hiding them is cutting 2 holes in his backpack, and wearing it with the wings inside. I really don't want to spoil the rest because I actually think I have a half decent twist. Anyways lots of kids start getting similar things, like small horns protruding from the forehead, or scales on their skin. They are all dubbed 'tails'.

After hearing lots of suggestions of how to start a hobby comic, we know we should learn to crawl before we try to start walking. The metaphorical 'walking' would be my "2nd Story" comic idea. Right now I'm coming up with something purposefully generic. So I'm TRYING to make this like a typical shallow kids with super powers thing. At the same time the more I think about this thing the more I want to add more twists and depth too it.(Just like in map making, resulting in nothing being finished)

If you want any help with concepts for new characters, powers, ect., i'd be glad to help also. I love imagining some of these sorts of things, and from the way you are describing it so far, it sounds pretty cool.

I thought the characters would have ACTUAL tail like things. Maybe tails that can only be seen by other people with a tail. It would be like some sort of translucent ghost type of thing too. Why call it TAILS then?

It's called T.A.I.L. or T.A.L.E. not TAILS. 'Tales' are synonymous with stories, so calling my 'tale' TAIL is like give a bear the proper name of Bear. It's a play on words >.>

A T.A.I.L. is an unexplained phenomenon. They are discovered in individuals who are visibly lacking something in their personality. The main character is lacking empathy, and selflessness. A T.A.I.L. will remain and grow with its host until the host fills said lacking, at which point the T.A.I.L. will atrophy and die. The whole process is typically over in 2 weeks. It's basically something to help them grow up.
