I think I made an account here many moons ago, but it failed to get it when I attempted to use the recovery feature, so I made one from scratch.
Since this is an intro thread, I've had off-and-on fascinations with Staredit ever since I was a little kid way back when SC first came out. I still have my old 1.0 disk that's warped from overuse (and the 1.04 Brood War disk of course).
Anyway, I've tried several times and failed to make a fully scripted, story-driven single player campaign. Oddly enough I was going to go with the "resurrected Overmind" arc before BW came out, but it turned out that Blizzard had beat me to it.
I'm not sure if Doodan still posts here, but he may remember me from about 3 and a half years back, starting a single player campaign project. I think he may have even had a hand in designing one of the finished maps in the campaign so far.
A couple of weeks ago I decided that I'd like to finally finish this project. It's the second incarnation of a campaign I've had in the making over the course of many years called Empire Wars. I nearly finished it back when I was about 14-15, but when I was getting to work on the final mission (yes, I had designed 29 levels of a 30 level campaign!), I realized that all but a couple of the first 25 levels or so were complete garbage and scrapped the project.
I then attempted to do it right when I was 18-19, but after making a few levels I started playing WoW.
Since WoW's been very casual lately, I've had a lot more time on my hands not during raid hours, so I'd like to at least finish the first of three arcs for my campaign. I've polished a couple of the maps, finished one, and made two new ones from scratch, bringing the total of "finished, but not thoroughly tested" map count up to 7 of the 10 I have planned for the Zerg campaign.
What better place to put my work up for criticism/playing than this?
None.
