Apparently Blizzard Technical support is lazy as hell
So heres my question
Alright heres what happens
If im playing a game and i leave or i just quit the game, my screen goes black and i get a window that says
(The Instruction at 0x0004bdb81 referenced memory at 0x00000001 cannot be read
Click ok to terminate the program)
What the heck does that mean and how do i fix this?
None.
You should probably backup your maps, then reinstall SC.
None.
Thats the thing, Ive done it three times, i think it has to with the Online Installer for SC from blizzard
None.
Don't use the online installer, use the install wizard that runs from autoplay when the disc is put in.
None.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
question to make sure that you aren't that
:
Are you trying to play a standard map? A map that doesn't use EUDs or has units by extended players?
in short:
Does that happen with a normal melee map?
It doesn't matter what map, it's when he
leaves, which means it has nothing to do with the map, but the games program scripts themselves. Somethings wrong with one of his files that installed, might be corrupt or damaged, maybe even missing entirely.
None.
WAIT
WTF
I JUST PLAYED A GAME AND WHEN I LEFT I DIDNT CRASH
IM STILL LIKE WTF O_O!

EUDs, extended units/sprites...
I guess it didn't crash you ingame, but it crashed a part of the replay system?
if that happens again, could you post the map, pls?
Or take a screenshot of the error report.

I know what was wrong
This is a little sad but..
Im using vista
I wasnt loading my sc as admin

A memory handle at 0x006D125C is NULL.
The only time it is assigned a value is at 0x004BDD74.
The only clue is "line 113 of Starcraft\\SWAR\\lang\\light.cpp".
It looks like it's terrain-related.
