Hey hey, UnholyUrine here... and I've got two low-budget maps that I've finally decided to finalize...
Some of you should've heard or played these already.. They're not too popular, but they're both really fun :D

Shrapnel Bombers


- Inspired heavily by Kenoli's Shrapnel Wars.
- I liked the idea of using High ground as cover, but I thought Defilers were too slow..
... soo I used corsairs + disruption web instead :D

Gameplay
- Basically, you have a Corsair, and D-web places a Timed Bomb. In 4-3 seconds, the bomb will explode, spraying Shrapnel (interceptors), and you must Cover yourself behind cliffs.
- Corsairs can't walk through cliffs
- and Lastly, you must stand still and wait for 5 seconds to regain energy (d-web is 20 E) (this stops people from spamming bombs)
- Maximum 7 players can play!

Playground Tag


Okay, I made this map because I missed the good old days of yore, where Firebat Tag had supreme reign over the UMS world.
Anyone remember firebat tag?
If not, it's very simple... There are 1-2 firebats and the rest are SCV's, and a timer set to 15 minutes. When you kill an SCV, you become the scv, and the Killed SCV becomes a firebat.
Once the timer reaches zero, whoever are Firebats loses, and whoever's an SCV wins.

Gameplay
- What I did is extend this game design.
- It is Recess, and you've got to Survive this 15 minutes of onslaught.
- There can be max 3 Bullies versus 5 Runners (However, I recommend 5 or more players .. 2v3, 2v4, and 3v5)
- Runners can CHOOSE between The Scout (SCV), The Geek (Probe), and The Runt (Drone).
- Bullies can also choose between EIGHT different types, each with their own Pros and Cons.



- Once a Runner is tagged, He will become the Bully!! And the Bully who tagged him will become a Runner.
- The New runner will spawn where he tagged the bully, and the New Bully will ALSO spawn there.. but 30 seconds later. So, new runners, RUN QUICKLY OR FACE MAJOR TAG-BACKS!

Bumpity Bump Bump..

I have made some updates to Playground Tag...
Balanced out the Fielder (no more speed ups :() and the A Teacher (more Dmg)

.. SOME replies would be nice ? :(

I've played Shrapnel Bombers; it's a great game to play on one of those random nights when you and all your friends are online, and you need some fun UMS maps to play ;)

The only problem is trying to get bnet pubs to join, as sometimes they seem afraid of the map's name..

I don't know why ppl are afraid of "Shrapnel Bombers" .. maybe it's not cool enough :\ .. Something about it makes ppl think it's a bad game.

I played only the bomber one.
People tha joined (4 :( ) really loved it.
I noticed some things:

- Critters make teal and blue hard to see on the mini-map, remove them or change the color of the Neutral player (if possible) ?
- The flag is dropped pretty frequently. It's okay if you pass over cliffs, but over a bush or some bones, there's no reason to drop it.
- Bombs should detonate each other (when an interceptor hits any state of a bomb, that bomb explodes).
- There's somehow a rigged spot at the bottom of the right base (for the CTF mode, at least). Left team can camp there and mass bombs all around without getting hit and with perma-recharge because they do not need to move.
- For the 'Hold the Flag' mode, make it so if a corsair hits an other corsair, he steals the flag (maybe!).
- You should display a text message saying the Modes (for noobs like me that hadn't seen the beacons were different the first time)

Okay.... The only way i can do the latter is to remove all the doodads.... They are there for the exact same reason.. to make it harder to carry the flag over the bottom route, but not harder to bomb people carrying the flag

You've obviously not played the game enough lol :P.. Because these three are already done (the bombs don't explode when they touch interceptors, but they do explode if they're close to another bomb that exploded). ... ERrrr maybe u should pay attention more?

err I also donno why this should be in general starcraft, devlin.. there are two maps that I'm showcasing here.. I'm not reviewing maps (Is there a way to change the title? <.<)

Remove the critters. It's okay for the doodads ^^ It's just that noobs didn't seems to understand why they were actually dropping the flag...
And for the bomb chain, I knew being near each other would make them explode, though I was requesting about the interceptors touching an other bomb making it explode. :O

The critters are there as spawn points... so yeah.... I guess I could remove them if they are too distracting..

Interceptors touching bomb making it explode would be a little crazy lols...

And it'd be hard to do...
Assuming I'm using the center loc on bomb, see if any interceptor's there or not, and then give the bomb to another person, and re-center loc on bomb.... that'd allow max 11 bombs on the field (to be on the safe side)... which is a limitation that I do not want to impose on the map. Plus, that means there'd be an almost 1 second time frame in which the interceptor may not affect the bombs.. causing discrepency between the bombing times.. and confusing/frustrating ppl (maybe)...

But since you've requested it, i'll keep that in mind. When I have the time, I'll try that.. and see what it's like. ^^

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
