This will be DAMN HARD to balance, and y oull prolly have to make the arena pretty small or something, becausae of someone is back in time...
How will this work, diff arenas for each player, each operating in their own time zone? Unless you continually zoom the screen in on the person, wait.....lets say im in the present, player b is in the past (multiple arenas wont work) i kill him. Can he dodge the kill since he is in the past, and then what happens to anything i gained/the life he lost from me killing him?
None.

I will see when I'm close to finishing.

The arena size is 40x21.

Each player has their own arena where the other players actions are recorded and displayed on each arena.

The way I interpret time travel is that your "soul" goes back in time, but your body remains. I will allow players to use Ai, that I will trigger, for their hero when they are not in the present. I still have to work in a story of some sorts to reason the spells, time travel ability, and Ai when in the past. This all may be subject to change since I have yet to trigger half, or more than half, of the map.

Wow this sounds great! So the "arenas" are similar to Elementa's? What units will we be using? What spells will we have and how will we cast them?
None.
So the "arenas" are similar to Elementa's?
Correct. They are a little bigger though.
What units will we be using? What spells will we have and how will we cast them?
I plan on using corsair or defiler. I'm open to suggestions if you can think of a way to cast spells using another unit.

No EUDs, I assume then. Corsairs are obnoxious, if it's between the two go for defiler.
None.

How will the going back in time work for other players? Like, if p1 goes back in time, all the stuff in his arena moves back; does the same thing happen in p2's arena?
Red classic.
"In short, their absurdities are so extreme that it is painful even to quote them."

Nope, no EUDs. Actually, I might use key detection for help / tutorial and for switching leaderboards. Defiler it is unless people have another applicable unit.

Since each player has their own arena, players can be at different times simultaneously.
None.

How would that work? If p2 goes back in time a minute, then p3 would be fighting p2 in the future, but p2 would be busy in the past. And if p3 got killed in p2's arena in the past, then p3 couldn't do anything about it. Might not be able to get it till the map comes out.

This is where the triggered Ai comes in. If player two is in the past he will be able to chose (chosen at the beginning of game and can be changed later) from a variety of Ai that can control themselves in the present while they are in the past. Player three then would be battling a computer with Ai. If player three has been attacked in the past, he will notified when. The Ai section of the map is iffy and might be changed.
And if p3 got killed in p2's arena in the past, then p3 couldn't do anything about it.
Player three has the chance to go back and prevent that from happening even after he was killed in the past, but only if he has enough energy left to travel through time. If he does not then he has died unless another player goes back even further and prevents the conflict from even happening.

Currently it seems like itll be whoever can get into the past the furthest wins.
However, how will the AI work...thats the only major problem, that and it seems being 60 seconds in the past is an amazing thing that would seem to ruin the game.
Teams or single?
Also, your AI will have to be oddly good for it not to get predicted killed...probably need another solution...

It does seem that way, but it won't be. Viewing the past requires no energy, but changing it does. The farther back you travel the more energy it takes to change something.

I've been thinking about the Ai. It would be very hard to trigger so I think I'm going to drop it. As a replacement, your unit will sit there, while you're in the past. When attacked, you will be notified, or as an ingame option, you will automatically be sent back to the present.
I was doing research on other time travel games and I found a cool idea. Changes in the past will be "updated" in the present every 10-30 seconds or so.
it seems being 60 seconds in the past is an amazing thing that would seem to ruin the game.
Because changing the past 60 in the past requires a large amount of energy, you will only be able to make a few moves or spells.

Oh my gosh! This game looks so awesome x). I honestly hope you can finish it.
Just an idea... wouldn't HT's Hallucination's work as a time travel spell...? Uhh.. I'm not sure what the EXACT time for the hallucination's time before it poofs is... but... if it's like >60 then wouldn't it be a suitable placement as the player's "placeholder/body"?
. Just a thought.

Indeed, Itero is an arena that control's time like Kaias's map, but in my map, players can independently view past events, by the use of seperate screens, and change events up to one minute into the past.
None.
Looks fun, sounds wierd, especially the issue with 'being ''Unkilled'' due to a time-travel... and wouldn't it look fishy, going in the past and seeing other do the same spells at the same spot, even if you move away ?? xD
None.
I worked on Itero a little. I finished the system that lets you view the past and the system that lets you change the past. Current trigger count is 12441.
None.
Let me show you how to hump without making love.

Anywho, yeah, I still can't wait to see this map. It's the second map on my "Maps I want to see done before SC2"-list, right after Nightfall.
