What are the Crimson Daggers?
For a while now I have been watching my favorite artist's online blog, where he just keeps updates of what he's doing, and posts up the art he works on in his spare time.

On a random blog check one day I realized that the guy, Dave Rapoza (his blog is here: http://daverapoza.wordpress.com/ ), started a group called the Crimson Daggers.

The Crimson Daggers is a group of aspiring artists who are willing to put in hours of time and effort to make themselves better, all around, at art. The studies are conducted via livestreams, where Dave and two of his friends, try to each create an hour long stream of an art "study", or art "class" EVERYDAY. The three artists do have their own lives, and are pretty busy -however! these three dudes are providing free art classes, and a free online study group in which to participate, and at least one live stream seems to be created everyday!

These three artists, Dave, Zach, and Andrew, are all amazingly talented and extremely nice! You can ask them pretty much anything pertaining to art during their live streams and they'll answer your q's!!

What do the Crimson Daggers do? Common Questions:
The streams cover a variety of things, including composition, color theory, anatomy, perspective, etc. etc. etc. These streams are incredibly informative, and are helping me tremendously.

You don't need to be good at art to join, and it is NOT TOO LATE to join the Crimson Daggers by any means! The main goal of the Crimson Daggers is to get people to improve their artistic skills, not necessarily become professionals. In order to join, all you need is some initiative and motivation!

You can participate with just a pencil and paper, however, a lot of the teachings involve the use of either paint and canvas, or photoshop. I believe all three artists use Adobe Photoshop CS4 -I highly recommend that you obtain adobe photoshop CS3 or CS4 to participate in all the teachings. This does not mean that you cannot learn from the teachings if you don't have photoshop! It just means it will be hard to participate in some of the streams without it.

Some important info to get started:
Here are some links you will need to join up in these awesome studies!

http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=173830 - This is the place where all of us aspiring artists post our studies and work. This is called the sketchbook. I suggest bookmarking this.

http://crimsondaggersforever.wordpress.com/ - This is the Crimson Daggers' blog. Updates and important information is posted here regularly by Dave and his two friends Zach, and Andrew (the ones doing the streams). In depth description of all the streams is located here. I suggest bookmarking this.

http://www.livestream.com/fuckinartwithmrdelicious - Dave Rapoza's live streams. To view an older video click on "On demand". Note: Not all of his videos are "classes", some ar just speed paints, the newer ones are mainly classes. I suggest bookmarking this.

http://www.livestream.com/crimsondaggersstreetteam - Zach(Collywobbles)'s live stream. I suggest bookmarking this.

http://www.livestream.com/domoarigatowondersteam - Andrew Doma's live stream. I suggest bookmarking this.

More information about these streams can be found on the Crimson Dagger's blog!

http://crimsondaggers.wordpress.com/ - The old Crimson Daggers' blog, used to set up the now existing blog. This link is here just because this old blog contains some very useful information on some older "classes" that were done, that you should start on before moving onto other things.

Important link! http://alexhays.com/loomis/ - Download 6 books by Andrew Loomis! The two being used currently are Drawing the Head and Hands and Figure Draw!

If you are interested in joining up, I suggest downloading those books on art by Loomis, and then going through the beginning of the head and hands, doing pages 21-38. You can also jump into figure drawing at pages 38-41.

Reply to this post with any questions you have! Reply to this post if you are interested in joining, and reply in this topic if you have joined! I would love to do these studies with some fellow SENers! Just make sure to post your work in the online sketchbook, not only in this topic!

There is a live stream that will be going on today with Zach at 1:00 pm EST! The link to his stream is in the OP under Important Info.

He doesn't have a mic yet though, as far as I know. He still does a very good job at getting out the info he needs to.

NudeRaider -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: Idk, I was looking more for a dehumidifer company which maybe stands out as a beacon of relief amidst damp and unpredictable climates of bustling metropolises. Not sure Amazon qualifies
sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city

Vrael -- Maybe here on the StarEdit Network I could look through the Forums for some Introductions to people who care about the Topics of Dehumidifiers and Carpet Cleaning?
