I have thought about modding SC for awhile, but i am unsure of how to do it.
FIRST:i have a crappy computer that cant play half of SC's maps with out crashing
SECOND:There is a lot of talk of CONFUSING language that is unknown to me.
THIRD:I know i need to be patient, and i have a lot of time on my hands, just, It is REALLY confusing with all the steps used to mod a SINGLE unit
FOURTH:I cant find any links for the necessary programs to mod
alittle help and advice?
None.
I haven't modded too much of StarCraft, but I managed to mod .grp files, and even mess around with iscript without any help from anyone except google. With that in mind, I'm sure a motivated individual could learn quite a bit just by lurking through this website. I believe a good place to start your modding would be to read through all the sticky topics here:
http://www.staredit.net/?forum=13Whether you should or shouldn't mod is entirely up to you; you shouldn't have to ask anyone. In my opinion, if you have to ask to get an answer to the question of "should I", it's going to be a no. But, again, you shouldn't let anyone make the decision for you
*wink wink* (I'm saying yes, go learn how to mod if you want to)

I appreciate the link you have provided, i will check it out, and HOPEFULLY start modding. i just needed some suggestions.
EDIT:oops, lol. its the page i visit EVERY DAY!
