Just Here For The Pie

So yeah, many of you may have not heard of this amazing thing titled The Orange Box, and many of you are going crazy craze over it. For all you newbies, The Orange Box is a newly released addition to Valve's many great games. Valve is probably best know for its game Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Well as it happens, Half-Life 2 is featured on The Orange Box. As a whole, The Orange Box features five games. Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode 1, Half-Life 2 Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. Portal is has got to be one of greatest games I've played ever. Don't get me wrong, Half-Life 2 is still one of my favorites, as well as Episode 1, but the physics in Portal are just amazing. [Imagine jumping into a hole and falling out a second hole on a wall next to it. You fall back into the hole you jumped into. With that gravity brings a greater force apon you as you fell. Now when come out of the second hole, again, you come flying out of it. PHYSICS!] Since The Orange Box is on a console the load times are much faster apposed to my slow arse computer drive. So, that's a benefit to many of you. I still have yet to play the first Team Fortress so I know nothing of it or its sequel. For more discussion of Team Fortress 2, check the already posted topic in the forums, http://www.staredit.net/?topic=526. For more on The Orange Box, check the main site of The Orange Box at http://orange.half-life2.com/ and the wikipedia entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Orange_Box. I'm going to continue the story of Half-Life now by playing Half-Life 2 Episode 2.

If you'd played the commentary mode you'd know that the area around the portals is actually a "hybrid physics bubble" in which the physics engine is extremely simplified :) Apparently it lagged too much and resulted in crazy glitches when they used the real physics.

You know Portal is two hours long? Don't pay fifty dollars if that is the only thing in it you want.

Well, I've never had the chance to play HL2, since I was always an Unreal Tournament 2K4 person. So, this will let me give hl2 a try.

Hey why not just buy it for the PC instead of a flash animation ripoff of it?

Heh, funny, I'm making a map called Portal Arena, but you shoot with a dropship and aim with an observer =[ and theres no great physics or whatever.

Why? SEN is perfect, why would you wanna look any further? :shifty: *strange cult noises in the background*

Ultraviolet -- Well actually it looks like Team Liquid still has a Brood War forum, but they're heavily melee focused

Ultraviolet -- Was gonna say Team Liquid, but it seems even they have moved on from SC:BW. Was going to respond to your thread, but wasn't sure exactly what to say. I don't agree with all your ideas about volcano run, but I like that you're thinking about improving upon the idea
