Que Sera, Sera.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico enacted a controversial law on Thursday decriminalizing possession of small amounts of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs while encouraging government-financed treatment for drug dependency free of charge.

The law sets out maximum “personal use” amounts for drugs, also including LSD and methamphetamine. People detained with those quantities will no longer face criminal prosecution; the law goes into effect on Friday.

Anyone caught with drug amounts under the personal-use limit will be encouraged to seek treatment, and for those caught a third time treatment is mandatory — although no penalties for noncompliance are specified.

Mexican authorities said the change only recognized the longstanding practice here of not prosecuting people caught with small amounts of drugs.

The maximum amount of marijuana considered to be for “personal use” under the new law is 5 grams — the equivalent of about four marijuana cigarettes. Other limits are half a gram of cocaine, 50 milligrams of heroin, 40 milligrams for methamphetamine and 0.015 milligrams of LSD.

lol.. you can barely even get high!
And the funny thing about this law is that it does not help anything, Becuase the people who are supplying are still breaking the law.
The cops don't care about who ever is smoking it, So they made alot of people happy but really didnt change anything.

lol right on the dot...
It does not make sense to me that mexico thinks it aight to hold drugs.... but not to sale them... LOL You have to optain the drugs illegally and then once you have it.. ITs legal thats really stupid.
If you are going to legalize drugs... then the goverment should get involved and just tax it and sale them...
It does not make any sense to make one half legal and the other half not...

To the contrary guys, this will have an impact.

The limits defined are for recreational use only. If you are holding anything more you are likely to be one of two things; a person with intent to sell drugs, or a person with high tolerance (and likely an addiction.)

So by creating this line you say what is right and what is not.

By offering help for free you may also cut dependancies as well as Over Doses.

You also cut numbers of people facing a jail sentence for minor drug use.

Yay drugs. Now everyone will be high, 24/7! Fantastic, and in a depression, too!

Thats what I'm saying ultimo!!
If they are cool with their citizens getting high off of all these drugs!
The goverment should go into the drug biz and make their country some money!

Honestly, it'd be nice if the involved something like this with taxes. When I was in jail (as wierd as that might sound to some) a lot were in just for minor possession. ..A lot. Taking up space for something they're going to do again. Honestly, I'm entirely anti-drug, but hell, I could have had a pillow probably in my bunk.

For sure.. Its like we are waisting our breath and time on somthing so small, >< People are going to do drugs...
When you are a user and not an addict, they shouldn't care and waiste or moneyz! and if the goverment started taxing.
We still would have illegal salers but just for a little bit. Because what will happen is it will be a price compition between the goverment and then the dealers.
Once the goverment gets down to a certain price that just can't be match by any normal dealer. When this happens we will be making money on the drugs, we will be keeping alot of people out of our jails/prisons... ^_^ So we save money double.

I don't know if I would approve of this kind of policy in Canada though. Maybe if they banned in public places because I can't stand the smoke or smell. But still, would be weird.

This is good. I don't think you guys really realize why Mexico did this, it was because of the drug cartel wars.

Also, 5 grams for 4 joints? Holy fuck. I want to smoke with Mexicans more.

Lawl.

Drugs are indeed a problem in Mexico. Mexico and America are working together to create some very nasty street violence. Drugs from Mexico to USA, Guns from USA to Mexico... nasty :/. My friend Juan joined a gang in 8th grade. He was the smartest student in my algebra class at the time. Once high school started he dropped out. I wish gangs didn't exist :(

No, you didn't.

this:
http://img143.imageshack.us/i/dsc00762ov2.jpg/#q=15%20grams%20weed
is 15 grams. That would be insane to smoke that much.

On average, a gram is $10. That would mean every time you toke, you would spend $150. I'm calling bullshit unless you have NO FUCKING CLUE as to inhale, trying to do it through your ear or some shit.

this too shall pass
