The sword and the faith

First off, totally shitty case, I wouldn't put a build for my grandmother in that case. Second I wouldn't buy a KINGWIN PSU. Not a known/trusted PSU name AFAIK. Third, a Caviar Blue? Why not a Black? Much better, much faster. I wouldn't recommend any monitor 5ms or over for gaming. The TT isn't nearly as effective as other coolers unless lapped, unless you were planning to lap it yourself, which I doubt, because it is a very delicate process.

You really should've checked with me or any of the other tech vets in the section before doing this. v.v

Hear me Raor!!

Because this was not suppose to be the greatest gaming rig... I have bills to pay and a car im paying off... And a house...?
It cost 800 dollars not 1500 thats why... That case is actually great, It alot better then i thought it was going to be.

P.S. I work at IBM, I fix computers all day... (I'm a tech vet)

Oh and i actually got the AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor - Retail ><... For the same price it was on sale when i got it.

I ask for a price range with every single build I design, and I make every effort to keep the price as low as possible. If you had come here, I'd have managed to match or beat this build at the intended price range, and not stuck you with second rate parts. That case is NOT great, it has 3 mediocre fans, bad mesh grates over them, and has a thin flimsy construction.

The fact is there is no harm in getting a second opinion. Even when I do a build I always check with a few others first, to see if I've missed anything or made any stupid mistakes, because we all do. You want to cut corners on important areas like the PSU? Be my guest. When it blows out and takes most if not all of your components with it, you can ask me to recommend a replacement. I just hope you like your motherboard the same as your eggs: Fried.

I also could've recommended a cooler that would've been better and cheaper without being lapped, I could've then put that money into another area. That might have balanced out a better choice in case or PSU, and who knows? Maybe it would've been a few dollars less.

Hear me Raor!!

Well give me your ideas... I have only got 3 parts so far... for one thing.
And yes the case is good I have it... >< It was alot better then what i thought it would be, the fans are 16 blades... they were much better then i expected i am replacing the fans though, And i added one more.

I have not quite gotten the proccessor. I'm actually buying it today, So if you can find mby an open box black or somthing... I was looking and i found one for 189.99 but it was not the good one, It was barley better then the one i got.
So i didnt think that one was worth it, but if you can find like the 3.2 discounted ( opened box or somthing on a website)
I will be willing to switch.

Oh and for the cooling for the proccessor, I dont really know much about cooling, my last gaming rig I had i was a kid, And my mom just let me get the 300 dollar water cooling case ><! So i didn't even care about that lol.
So if you have any other ideas for cheap cooling let me know please... I have not gotten that part yet.

I'll go with what I'd recommend on the parts you haven't bought yet then:
First off, as nice as that Patriot RAM is, you could do better for the price. This PNY kit is solid, same latency and frequency, but much lower in price. The price difference is 20$ however the Viper has the free shipping, so its probably close to a 10$ difference. I can vouch for PNY personally as my PNY 8600GT 512MB ran cool and fast even when overclocked. Great company.

For a rig that's going the gaming route and sticking to HDDs, there can be no other choice than the Western Digital Caviar Black. This one is a little more expensive than the Blue you chose, but that money is going toward some serious speed. It was on sale for 10$ off last week, posted about it. I wish the promo code hadn't expired. But I'm not done yet, so we might equal out the cost in the end.

For the PSU, grab this Antec which is 8$ more but has free shipping, so it probably costs the same amount. It has better voltage ratings even though its a 650w, however it will still be more than enough to power this rig very comfortably. If there is one area where it is NOT safe to cut corners, this is it. Honestly the Kingwin was an odd ball at that max output and such anyway. I wouldn't trust it.

Monitor wise this ASUS has not only won a newegg user's award but is also one I've widely recommended. The inches are less but only by 1.5 and the MS is something I'd be much happier with when gaming.

Cooler wise we could save some money by going with the Scythe Mugen. I've heard great things about it, and it looks like an absolute monster. I was told AM2+ and AM3 use the same mounting systems, so it should have everything you need.

Oh and its out of stock but don't forget a tube of OCZ freeze extreme thermal paste. Always a good choice if you're going to be overclocking.

The Caviar Black is a very suitable OS drive. I'm using the same one for my OS drive.

ITs 500 gb!!!! >< You only need like 15 max! lol I just see it as a waste as a operating system drive... Because i usally reimage my os drives once a week, Thats why I put that OS drive in it.
Never mind, Its way cheap for a 32, lol!
Like i cant even find something cheaper.

Let me clarify:
The WD Caviar Black has the speed to be a better OS drive than the Caviar Blue or any other 7200RPM SATA 3.0 drive. There are two better choices for an OS drive: A Raptor (10,000RPM) or a Solid State Drive.

Hear me Raor!!

Yeah i edited my post >< its just that its really cheap for what it does, even with its space on it.

Will that 650 be good enough for oc / and that new processor i picked?
and everything else?

Also i didnt even think about solid state
SUPER TALENT FPM16GHAE 16GB Mini PCIe (PATA) MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Retail <--- Do you think this would work?
