Hey who likes Oblivion? Cuz i sure as hell do.

I love every aspect of tha game, except it hates my graphics card >.<.

Just wondering: anyone tried playing it at hardest? if yes did u get the Morrowind feel while playing it?

It's a great game. I play on the 360 and it always glitches out on me... Like on my first game, I was on the last part of the main quest and I decided I didn't want to do it now and when I finally decide I want to do it, Martin DISAPPEARS! NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! Also, I got kicked out of the Mage's Guild right after killing Manimarco. I didn't even kill anyone from the Mage's Guild! And I've never played it on hardest. And I have barely played Morrowind, the only time I have was like totally glitching it out.

Thats why I use the comp version...

BTW: I played morrowind on xbox, and yea it has its fair share of glitches

BTW2: Mages have no balls imo, mesa fighter. And on hard fighting is like the hardest thing ever, I can't even kill a mountain lion without potions.

Lol... I don't like mages either. It was for achievements :). I have a crap character and then I also have a marksman that pwns butt. My marskman also has 100% chameleon. Also I have dowloaded content, every one there is besides gamer pics and crap and now for some reason the content won't load all the way, so when I want to load a game it says,"This game relies on some content that is not available. Continue loading?"

Worst game ever made. I bought it for PC and gave it away. And thats because the game sucks, not because I couldn't run it. I ran two copies of it at the same time. And Crysis. Thats right, I play games from the future.

GTFO, you have bad tastes. The Elder Scrolls Series is phenomenal, it owns all other RPGs, and if you don't like it, go back to pokemon.

I can't believe how people are saying how Elder Scrolls IV is "Next-Gen" when it is already out dammit! They need to stop saying how it is next-gen and finally decide that is the game that made the "next-gen" games are all "current-gen"

Elder Scrolls IV is one of my favorite games of all time (PC). Sure, it may be lacking in a few aspects, like a good speech system, but there are tons of highlights like the graphics and such. Though, I did get pretty bored of it after I beat every quest in it, so I started downloading mods. I currently have a total of 60 mods, and the game crashes like, every couple hours now lol. Even still, it's a good game. However, when Fallout 3 comes out, it better be nothing like Oblivion, and in true Fallout style :D. Anybody else here looking forward to it?

Anyone who has ever played the TES series will tell you TESIII was a far, far better game. And no one is going to claim TESIV has an exciting story or spectacular gameplay. And at that point, who really cares that it is a big fucking sandbox if its a sandbox filled with shit.

No one has ever said TESIV is next gen, and no one ever will. The technology it uses is hopelessly terrible and inefficient. TESIV's technology lies somewhere between last-gen and current-gen. And current gen stuff is already going to look like shit when iD Tech 4 is out.

lol, Espeneo is just a troll, ignore him.

Yeah, I play, I never got as far as I want, but one day I'll get there. I'm almost at the point where it runs very acceptably on my computer with high settings on.. just sometimes it gets a little jumpy..

Get a mod to reduce the polygons on the grass. Looks exactly the same. TESIV = Grass Simulator. Grass accounts for 95% of the engine's calculations.

I made that number up. The actual percentage is probably much higher.

Ok me downloading that...maybe it will help my computer problems.

BTW Oblivion in my eyes looks nextgen, except for a few little things...like grass dissapearing at like 5 meters out.

One of the best games ever made imo. Got a lvl 37 Argonian stealth archer.
Great graphic and stuff. Only minus is that the terrain load a bit slow sometimes, especially when you look at hills and mountains that is just outside your current "loading area."

You don't need to download a mod. Just go edit the configuration file, and you're good to go. Set the min grass width from the default to 130, I believe. Runs much better and looks the same to me. Also, if you have 512+ Mb of graphical Ram, download the enhanced textures. Instead of 1024x1024 textures, you get 4096x4096 textures.

He said 512+ MB of graphical RAM. System RAM hardly matters.

Ok back on topic all! Lets discuss oblivie.

Is shivering Isles and Knight's expansion worth it?

None.

Oct 13 2007, 8:20 pm blacklight28 Post #18

Yes. I've never done Knight's though. But shivering isles is like a whole new quest line. A smaller main quest but still a BIG quest line. You get extra items and stuff too.

Koolzorz when I up my comp I will get shivering isles.

Know any good mods with epic quests?

If you are playing oblv on pc, dont pay a cent for expansions (including shivering isles), unless you really want to. Torrents for them are everywhere. In terms of official expansion packs, shivering isles is obviously the best one, then knights of the nine, and then wizard's tower. However, players have made mods that are in quality, better than many of the official mods. You just gotta try em out to see which ones are good.

btw: I recommend these mods below. They are the bigger, more major mods, I'm not going to bother including small little things like clothing mods and decorative mods though.

Oblivion Tournament: which adds sort of like an arena type of thing, but you fight people who are freaking amazing with magic weapons and stuff. You can set all the teams, arenas, etc... It provides the most fun combat in Oblivion. There's even a mode where everybody respawns when they die and its just a match to see which team gets most kills.

Goblin War: You can go to any of the major goblin tribes in Cyrodiil, and if you steal their totem, you become essentially the Tribes leader and they follow you around and kill things for you. Very fun if you lead your tribe into a city xD.

Nascosto Isles: HUGE! Adds an entire new realm like how Shivering Isles does. Complete with caves, houses etc. Of course its small in size with not a large amount of quests, but overall its very well done.

Kvatch Aftermath: This mods makes it so that after you beat the main quest, they rebuild Kvatch and you become Count of Kvatch. Pretty much turns Kvatch into a functional town. And you get the cool perk of having a huge castle as your house. :D

Your Personal Museum Mod, and Reznod's Mannequins Mod: Pretty self explanatory, for people like me who just totally need to show off their uber-awesome gear and random collections.
