ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

While I can terrain, I enjoy triggering much more. I've tried to recreate e1m1 from doom, but I inevitably get bored. If someone wants to make a terrain map of the various levels (e2m2 would be really fun), I'll stick on an EUD weapon switching system as detailed in my concept map. If that's not your style, pretty much any pretty arena will do as well. My goal for that would be to make a multiplayer system just for fun. If anyone wants to donate a map, possibly a map you gave up on, or has some really cool terrain, I'd love to use it!

Since this system lends itself perfectly to the "Doom" spectrum, space and installation are probably prime locations. Alternatively, there's "Hell on Earth" so a city would be fine too. Finally, I could change the theme to something like half life, or far cry to accommodate all types of terrain. If you give me permission, I can even stick it on an RP map or something (ex's RPs come to mind).

I'm just looking for somewhere to go with this. Alternatively, if you already have a map in production you think would benefit from this weapon switching/shared hp, tell me, and I'll look into fitting in the triggers myself if you want me to.

Falkoner's Terrain compilation (http://falkoner.cow.googlepages.com/Maps.html) would be a good place to look for some terrain. If you need to, you could probably look around in those, then try building on what you see there.

I'm sure he already has falkoner's compilation, but it doesn't have much terrain outside of jungle. Although this doesn't get the terrain done for you, I recommend looking into Desert, or if you think the color is too bright, maybe twilight. I'm pretty sure there is a doom 2 map in the database, and the terrain looks fine. If the tiles on the floor of doom are what you're after, jungle bridge tiles look pretty close.

Thank you! It's a shame that there are a lot of maps which have awesome terrain, but never see any triggers. It would be pretty easy to fit a system to a map (I think Temple Siege's terrain can be changed fairly easily).

Do you want the main arena area to be more mazelike or more like a gladiators arena? Or i could just leave it blank and you could do whatever you want with it. Because the outside and entrance to the arena is done plus the stands.

Imagine a goldeneye map, or a doom map, or a CS map. It just has to look pretty. There's no base, and I plan on randomizing the respawn locations. It can be either.

Like with symetrical terrain except lots of obstacles and things.

- EDIT -

Here it is, sorry if its not quite what you were looking for. I tried to make a sort of maze symetrical thing in the middle but it didnt work out so i left it blank for you to mess around with.

I like the bridge going up/downwards at the bottom of the map. It's pretty cool.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
