Epic SHOWDOWN

Story

It's time to fight... For some reason, you and some others are stuck in this place. Now you must fight to the death.

Gameplay

1. One player will select game settings.
2. Hotkey your gateway.
3. You start with your person. Find a Gun. Kill other team.
4. Hotkeys: 'Z' switches to your sword. 'D' Swaps your gun. 'T' uses your special ability.

The main focus of this game is skilled survival/killing through use of your 'Z' hotkey. While in ordinary mode, the player can pick up guns, swap guns, use turrets. While in sword mode, player moves twice as fast, and has a strong melee attack. Micro abilities and use of the hotkeys separate the noobs from the pros.

Specials: There are two different specials available to the player. These specials are available by collecting gas. You receive 1 gas for every kill you make, and your special becomes more powerful with each gas your accumulate. (Up to Level5) The special you use depends on which mode you are in. They are a) Ghost Hound and b) Blade Dance. Specials are used by means of the 'T' hotkey.

Ghost Hound - Summons a Ferocious Hound that can scout out the surroundings or take out weakened opponents with it's claws.

Blade Dance - Evasive maneuver that creates shadows of your blade to distract the enemy. If you use this while an enemy is close by, they may receive damage.

Weapons

Machine Gun - Rapid Attack, low damage.
Rifle - Long Range and Strong.
Poison Arrows - Good Weapon.
Shotgun - Laughable from far away, Deadly up close.
Flamethrower - Short range, but crazy damage.
Sword - Strong weapon that increases movement.

Levels

Players can fight on one of two different levels. Ruins and Valley. Each level is very different from the other, and play styles are likely to change depending on which map is chosen.

Ruins - Strait forward Area. Contains 1X shotgun and 1X flamethrower. 2X Turrets on opposing sides. Two halves are connected by a narrow corridor in the center. Two teleporters allow alternative movement. This map is more noob friendly in terms of strategy and plenty of trees provide cover from other players.

Valley - A maze-like area covers the better half of this map. 1X Turret is up for grabs in the center of the Valley. Map also contains 2X Shotgun and 1X flamethrower. Many narrow valleys are here and they are highly favorable to those who know how to use their swords. Also, a network of tunnels run under this map to allow for quicker movement.

Settings

Players choose between 6 different Setting of Gameplay when the game starts. They are:
1. Time (12) - Team w/ highest score at the end of 12 Minutes wins.
2. Time (20) - Team w/ highest score at the end of 20 Minutes wins.
3. Kills (50) - The first team w/ 50 kills will win.
4. Kills (100) - The first team w/ 100 kills will win.
5. Destruction Mode - You will win if you take down the enemy's base.
6. Endurance Mode - Deplete the enemy team's Endurance Meter to win.

More Screenshots are on their way. DL THE MAP. test it out. IT'S F-U-N-N-N.

•New version posted, Features are as followed.
-Slightly modified landscape to promote more use of your surroundings. (Hiding, Vision, Vantage points)
-Tutorial added. (Because not everyone is a genius)
-Depth added to specials. Each special has 5 strength levels. The more 'charged' you have it, the more useful it will be.

v3 is the shit. DL + Play + RM + Own.

Looks fun, but you should make more levels. I can help with level ideas if you want to make more and want my help.

I'll play this the next time I'm on bnet, btw.

EDIT: Oh, more details on the weapons please? Poisonus arrows = ? Defiler? o.o

New version has been posted. It fixes two glitches. v2 is what you should play. @TZ No more space for more levels, but maybe if map gets to be popular, additional versions w/ diff maps may be created. Also, weapons are simple. Poison arrow = hydralisk. Only fancy effects in this game are the special moves.

Sorry for double post, but bump is necessary to show New version. I urge anyone to try this out, it is serious intensity and epicness.

Sorry, but, it was Epic fail.
Altho I only played it once, and it was 1v1 (since no one'd join except friend), and you put a lot of time and effort to make the game look nice, the gameplay itself was god-awfully slow, and the weapon system is clunky, and its design is just outright dumb to do..

Now don't wtf? me yet, lemme explain. First of all, Civilians are slow asses, and then you toss them into a big map like that? (I was playing valley)... u spend 75% of the time finding ur opponent (i'm guessing 25% if it's 3v3.. but that's still too much) Simply give the players the map vision.. that'd help a lot.... Second of all, your weapon system is teh Epic Failz. WHY would u want it so that the units MOVE to your civ and attack? Not only does that take out all the unit strategy for HP, Range, Micro, and Abilities, but you also made it so that the Civs are blocked by those units. That's SOOO not fun. What's wrong with Controlling the unit?..
I know you want to avoid the problem where the person can switch out and then get another unit with full HP... but you can make your dragoon buildtime even longer to prevent people from doing that...
Thirdly, why the heck'd u wanna disable sm of the weapons? It's not a Powerup thing.. so why'd u wanna do that? It's like saying.. Here are your choices, but Oh u can make it so that you don't have any choices, so there's no strategy to the game AT ALL.

zzz

anyways.. the good points are that it's nice looking, and the texts and everything's well done. The sword thing is a good idea, but doesn't work into the Guns system.... What I suggest is allow it to be very very high dmg (Like 300 dmg), BUT very low hp (like 100hp)... so that the person'll have to be close and excecute it nicely or else they die.
Overall, this game was boring, and wasn't too innovative.. The Gun swapping and Sword stuff has good triggering and was well thought out, but everything else wasn't...

OH and don't forget those Templars.. I had 1 gas, it spawned a broodling (which was useless and can't use tunnels).. I had 2 gas, it also spawned a broodling, AND set my gas to 0... what's going on there?... and btw, broodlings suck.. why the hell is a special then???? Blows my mind why u'd think anyone'd like that...

EDIT: ok i read ur post... when using guns, i'll get the hound no matter what... buut, how does it become stronger?

Sorry if my comments are "heavy".. but this is what u made me feel, annoyed and bored.. so I just gotta come in and type this stuff out :O...

remember kids.. GAMEPLAY > DESIGN > PROFESSIONALISM (at least in B.net.. but I'd say for all games.. e.g. Far Cry 2)

Its not that bad, but the clunkyness of the system is a downside.

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
