Quote from me on another thread
Everyone could have a certain amount of hp. People could buy units to attack other members, and defend themselves with. When someone would attack, the player deals damage according to that unit. They could attack once a day with each unit. When someone dies, they lose some minerals and it is given to another player. If they try to attack you when the other person has a unit, they automatically attack on f their units instead. Protoss and Zerglings would recover 1 shield/hp per hour (or whatever). This sounds really fun :-D

I don't think this is a good idea because mods would give themselves 20000 HP and give everyone else like 10.

Assuming it doesn't get to confusing or imba, this would be cool. But I think that might take a while to code. Or maybe not. Moose? Your thoughts?

Oh, where would you buy units? The store?

Jan 6 2009, 11:02 pm Lord Malvanis Post #4

I would agree that it would be cool if mods didn't rig themselves but buying units would be horrible and unfair because they would make it all fucked up like the prices already are and the people with mass money would kill everyone and gain minerals for life. gfg

Well, what would you recommend? It would fail if you couldn't buy units.

Maybe it would be better if you could only buy one unit per day? Then the old members wouldn't have too much of an advantage. And make it so that you can't attack someone who doesn't have any units.

Explain to me why they wouldn't make the prices rediculously high like everything else, making the older members still have an advantage one unit a day or not. You're still not following me, Money is slow, I've been here for awhile and still can't afford a signature.

I was thinking of shielding members who have not been logged on for a certain number of days. That would prevent annihilating ppl that have only been on once in their life. Maybe we could reset everyone's minerals to 50. And have our starting workers (Yes, if they would also apply that scv idea) get 8 minerals each every so often. It would be pretty fair then. And to any1 who would complain about the reset of minerals. too bad, This is a Starcraft site, if you're so great at Starcraft you can prove it with this game. ^.^ It would make only the best Starcraft players/ppl that actually play the game to know what they're doing and be able to succeed, while noobs that dunno what Starcraft is, GET ANNIHILATED! (Though, we should put a temporary shield on ppl that JUST register, so they can catch up with everyone else)

So... Moose could just not make the units ridiculously expensive... Ever thought of that?

Btw, the units should be priced to the original game, making people that actually post around the boards have an upper hand ^.^

Oh, and people that haven't logged in for like 2 days stop getting money from their workers.

Because everyone on SEN complaining about prices didn't convince him to change the prices we have now.

Yup.

Oh, btw, people would probably team up against the older players and keep attacking them, making things much more even.

You know, if Moose doesn't like this, we could do it as a forum game.

It would be better as a forum game for the people who don't want to participate

We live in a society.

This will take SEN far far away from the type of site I want it to be.

But... it would be a completely new experience and we'd be an original forum unlike most others that have the same stuff all over, plus you gotta admit it sounds cool. It would be a forum revolution!

Okay then Moose. I'll make a forum game that's basically the same thing. It won't be up until the balancing and stuff is done, though.

We live in a society.

I don't really want any of these forum RPGs is my point. :P

This is a starcraft map making site not a, "zomg, liek starcraft is teh secks!! I luv it." It seems like an obsession. I just cant think of what to say, but I just think the idea is stupid.

I like it, but you have an unhealthy obsession almost mentally impaired. (Can't think of a smily to put...)
