XP + HID Keyboard Drivers

Just installed XP pro on a new hard drive and finished setting up dual boot to my previous install on a second hard drive. Now the Pro installation insists upon installing drivers for HID Keyboard every boot. I've tried going ahead and reinstalling from the add hardware wizard and from the CD. Either method gets rid of the found new hardware tray icon but windows will complain about finding new hardware upon rebooting again. Any ideas?

The keyboard is a Logitech G15 (2005 version with 18 g keys instead of the 2007 version with only 6) if it makes a difference. Googling also yields results relating to problems getting drivers to install the first time, haven't seen a result yet similar to my problem.

This happened to me once after a power surge. I didn't have my computer hooked up to a surge protector at the time (I know its dumb). And when the power went out my PC cut off.

Every time I rebooted after that I was prompted to install ALL of my drivers even though they were installed and working properly.

I had to uninstall and reinstall all my drivers to fix the problem.
Make sure you uninstall the driver Completely, then try to reinstall it. Also make sure to update to the latest driver via the company's website. Or you can go into DeviceManager, find your keyboard and click "Find Updated Drivers".

Haven't had windows prompt me to install it again after going through Device Manager, hopefully I won't have to go through this again later should I feel the need to unplug the keyboard :).

Vrael shouted: Idk, I was looking more for a dehumidifer company which maybe stands out as a beacon of relief amidst damp and unpredictable climates of bustling metropolises. Not sure Amazon qualifies
sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
