This is a piece of metal spinning at like 6000 rpm...

Actually the video says 15-20Hz (right?), that's 900-1200 rpm

I think it said something like 20 fps, so 20 rps, 20*60 = 1200.

Hz are cycles per second, it could be frames, revolutions or anything. Plus the projector fps and the spinning disc frequency must be synchronized.

This might not be useful for gaming yet but think about it having one of these in say a library using a voice recognition to find books related to key words and phrases would be pretty futuristic, a computer with a face =p although it would end up being some humans face, presumably people would want to have certain faces like a loved one or their favorite celebrity. This can go rather far in our current society its not limited to gaming.

Maybe it is possible to have specialized 3d telephone booths if you will that will have several cameras and can then be displayed at a home location so you can see the persons head or body talking to you from a remote location.

The current month edition of the spanish version of scientific american magazine has an article about this topic (3D pictures). I haven't read it yet but for what I've seen it explains how two devices work: One of them is similar to this one (it might not need vertical camera tracking though) and the other one is just a bunch of LCDs one after another so if they're transparent enough it can't really display a 3D picture.

Vrael -- It is, and I could definitely use a company with a commitment to flexibility, quality, and customer satisfaction to provide effective solutions to dampness and humidity in my urban environment.

Vrael shouted: Idk, I was looking more for a dehumidifer company which maybe stands out as a beacon of relief amidst damp and unpredictable climates of bustling metropolises. Not sure Amazon qualifies
sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
