Looking to get a good 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system. Looking to spend around 100$. Suggestions anyone?
Look for Logitec 5.1 or 7.1 speakers.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121012They work like their suppose to, deliver sound.
I, myself, also have their 5.1 surround sound for my desktop,tv, and 360.
None.
Bamp for more suggestions please.
Relatively ancient and inactive
I find myself wondering, why get new speakers? I have small, 3-year-old ones that came with my brothers' computer purchase, and I don't see any reason to change. What exactly makes some better then others?
None.
Configuration. 2.1 speakers are fine for general use, but I am an audiophile and I also want surround for when I watch movies. This means I need a 5.1 or 7.1 set.

Don't use a computer, then. Get an A/V reciever and some real speakers.

I'm actually using one of
these as a speaker thanks to the handy "tape in" coaxial cable input. I got for around $100, which is the price range you mentioned. I'm fairly certain it doesn't do surround sound. It does, however, play C in the first octave (
C1), which most speakers would miss (or be blown out on). If you crank up the volume past the second notch on the master volume slider though, it's just as good as surround sound though.
Lol@Moose and Doodle.
I just want some quality 5.1 or 7.1 comp speakers. Kthnx.

Oddly enough, that's what I use when I need Sofia to be more noisy...
Not exactly Moose's amp but I use my fender jazzmaster.
The desktop, though, does have a set of speakers that are most likely really old I remember the price was like USD $5. They work well.
fuck you all
