Storm the Fort is a well-triggered AOS map. Essentially, you have two relatively identical bases sending waves of units at each other, and you need to use your hero to turn the tide.

Highlights
- Balance. None of the heroes are significantly stronger or weaker than all the others.
- Vehicles. You can enter your base's mech units (tank, goliath, vulture, scv)
- Spawners. You can build spawners using the scv.
- Minions. You can hire mediocre units.
- Resources. There is a constant battle for control of the center minerals and to protect your refineries on the side, to preserve your income from the base.
- Quality. The map has a lot of 'nice' features: it's almost impossible to back stab, killing friendly units is penalized instead of rewarded (it detects ally kills), income increases when you're alone, the color of leaving players is shown, helpful and timely tips, etc, etc.
- Lives. You have 5 lives (4 revives), and you can re-pick your hero when you die. That means crap allies die off so you can get their income.
- Openness. The map isn't protected, so you can see how things were done.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you supposed to be the creator of the map you post about in Map Showcase?

this is the ver where u can win by just building supplys (because of supply armor its liek 5 times hard to kill them)
ver 1.7 or 1.94 are vers. where players rely more on their hero and supply are only useful in the end (cause they just feed other heros in the begining) and supply hav elike 500 hp or somethig but no armor (which makes more sense can now someone can actuallt kill one with out losing like 800 hp)

I believe Life2Death made this map. He was Mp)Legend. So Either you stole his map or he stole yours, but he released this map a long time ago. Or you are Life2Death with multiple SEN Accounts.

There are two options for taking out depots that work (I do this all the time):
- Hole up in the base with a ton of minions, get so many kills you become a god
- Use enemy firebat splash to take out their own depots very quickly

Also, if you have a fast unit, you can usually take out depots before they can get a bunch.

However, you do have a point: depots can be very hard to deal with, even in the hands of new players. I think I will look into adding some kind of counter to them. This might be a good time to put some kind of air presence in the map, since air could avoid the men clogging your path to the depots...

This map has been open for its entire existence, so its not surprising there are a few derivatives. However, I (Dragoon-elf) am the original author.

Of course, I can't prove it, but I do distinctly remember starting the map from scratch :omfg: .

You know, Me and old Chef members suspected Mp)Legend's map was editted and stolen. Because I noticed that he changed the map title to Red vs Blue very quickly and Dragoon-elf seems more familiar. Map stealers, tsk tsk.

It's only stolen if he took my name off of it. The map is open, after all.

I don't suppose you happen to have a copy I can look at? I like to look at changes people make.

I played it a long time ago and I really sucked at it.
Recently Falkoner showed me a version of this and after he taught me how to play I've been pwning everyone at it :D .

I really enjoyed this game, but the mercenaries you can hire in the newer versions are kinda lame.
The only things that could improve the map would be the usage of extended terrain, more effects and maybe some more cool features.
Then there would be no way you could possibly improve it any more.

Overall: This map is really great, good triggering system and NO BUGS! gj.

Same as Base Storming Tactics and Red vs. Blue....

All copies of the first one.. which i'm not sure of anymore..

I liked the minion thingy... tho they seem kind of rigged from time to time.
but they're fine .. once the masses gets to them..

I think the top left group is further from the minerals than the bottom left group..
U added sm extra stuff which was nice.. but didn't really expand on them.. such as the Refinery.. there could've been more stuff about it...

Unit spawn control.. YAY!
overall .. it's a copy.... but a fine job on fine tuning smth... i guess.? ..

p.s. i might have been playing wrong ver.... but i'm pretty sure it's this one :)

I just got an idea for it: You are able to set the spawn yourself, it could cost a population sorta thing (the computer might only be allowed to use 10 per side, say a rine would cost: 1 pop, a ghost wud cost 1 pop, a vulture 2 pop, etc. etc. and for a bonus be able to upgrade the NPC spawn.

BTW I never actually played it so sorry if this idea is already incorporated into it.
