Yes, I know that they dont replace the actual thing. What I meant by "getting rid of Windows Live" was having to make my sisters and mom use a new program when they are used to the old one. Trust me, NOT a good idea.
Totally not what I meant either. As the person above me said, you could use aMSN, while your sisters and mom continue using Windows Live Messenger, since it is still working for them. (if you can't figure out how to get Windows Live Messenger working for your account)

Windows live gave me a similar problem, I found out it was missing a DLL though, which I promptly stole from my brothers computer and it worked normally.
