As the person above me said, you could use aMSN, while your sisters and mom continue using Windows Live Messenger, since it is still working for them. (if you can't figure out how to get Windows Live Messenger working for your account)

Windows live gave me a similar problem, I found out it was missing a DLL though, which I promptly stole from my brothers computer and it worked normally.
